This first shipment sold out back in February. We have since improved the wiring to one 6 AWG silicone wire, or two 8 AWG wires based on suppliers' materials on hand. New video in the works.
hey mate can you tell me what the difference is between a charge balance and a balance enable is 10.56 in i saw it there on your ph as a option to turn off
Thanks for value info you gave in this video, the question is, is using the on/off function in the app as switch continuously damage the BMS itself or the ebike controller? again many thanks
can you do a vid on explaining all the app parameter setting? there seems nothing anywhere that gives a full explanation of what they do or how they should be set,for example open and closed balance etc ok.
Look under the "download" tab, you have to scroll down under the product pictures... rebelbatteries.com/product/lifepo4-12v-100ah-1280wh-bluetooth-enabled-rechargeable-lithium-iron-phosphate-battery/
Bought your battery last month and loving it! I'm running from my alternator to a Renogy Dcc50S Charger. I am worried that I or my partner will accidentally click on the lock button while driving and fry our charger (I believe the charger has to be connected to the Rebel battery or it's toast). Any quick solution to this, besides shutting off the Bluetooth to prevent locking the battery via the app?
Glad you're enjoying the battery. What you are describing, disconnecting the battery via software would be no different than the fuse blowing, or the BMS disconnecting for protection reasons (low temp, over current, etc). My thought is Renogy would have prevented any ill effect from a disconnected battery, especially given there is a Lithium mode. I do not see any warnings in the product manual about this, but to be sure I have emailed Renogy support to verify and will update you here if they respond. ~Aric
@@sandiegomitch Here's the response I got from Renogy, "There would not be any damage that will happen to the alternator or the DCC50S if the battery is disconnected while actively charging. The light indicator will be off or will give you a fault light once the issues above occur."
Is there a way to make sure the batteries don’t receive solar charge when it’s below freezing? Is there a built in temp sensor that cuts off power to the battery?
There are 2 built-in temperature sensors. Charging under temp cuts off at 5C (41F). (Stops charging below 41F) Discharge under temp cuts off at 0C (32F). (Stops discharging below 32F) These numbers are adjustable through the Bluetooth app.
Only on the iOS app can you switch from C to F. The first page shows a list of BMS's available, if you're looking at a BMS's data, just push the back button and select another BMS.
No, there's no current throttle. But you can change the "Discharge Overcurrent" parameter. If exceeded for more than 10 seconds, the BMS will shut down for 30 seconds. All those numbers are editable. Our batteries can be connected in series up to 4 units for a 48V system (51.2V Nominal).
Great video - subscribed. Could you show how to connect to the battery for the first time? Which password did you enter? Several versions of the app can be found on the internet. Which one do you use? Can you put a link in the description? BATTERY STATE works for me. But PARAMETER VIEW does not load parameters.
John, Sorry for the late reply. The default password is 123456 and then you can change it if you like. We only give out the admin version to customers (after warnings and disclaimers). Shoot us an email (support@rebelbatteries.com) and we can shoot you a link to the admin version if you haven't found it yet.
It wouldn't do any good unless you have the BMS. The first step is to connect. If you still want it, please email us (support@rebelbatteries.com) and we can shoot you a download link. Thanks
Congratulations on your videos. I can't find a way to protect the bms from intrusion. The most important thing is to protect the battery pack from intruders who can ditrue the battery pack, or disconnect the pack or whatever. The version 3 app seems to have a password setting but there is no way to set it.Has anyone got the solution and tested it?
On ours we put a switch on the power line to the Bluetooth module. This switch removes power from the Bluetooth but keeps the BMS on. No way an intruder can hack in if there's no power. Depending on which BMS you got from the manufacturer determines if the pin # actually works. Early models it was there but not functional. JBD rep told me they've fixed it, but our recent shipment was still not. Sticking with the switch for now.
The default PIN is either 000000 or 123456. On Android either should work. For iOS, if a private password was set, you must know what it was set to. It's not set by us or at the factory on reBel Batteries. Are you use one of our batteries, or just a JBD BMS with your own cells?
