Rebel Moon - Empty, Shallow and Boring: A Zack Snyder's Star Wars Clone

"Empty, Shallow and Boring". That sounds like the best Star Wars movie in years.

They gave me more of a 'Depression era dustbowl' town, but I can see why you would have gotten Viking vibes from them.

I watched this recently and I couldn't get through the first thirty minutes without getting bored.

I can't believe amazing shows got cancelled because they didn't made enough numbers, meanwhile Netflix was giving Hack Snyder 150 M only for him and his dumb ego project 🙄🙄 Is this garbage really making high numbers to compensate the cost? 🤦

is not as bad as the last one he made army of zombie.. but than again that one didnt say it will replace star wars so....

I finally got netflix, and I watched parts 1 and 2. To see if some of these bad reviews are true. I loved both movies. I loved the story and the visuals. Great scifi.

is there really a need for the film to be in space? Could it not just take place on one planet?

Charlie Hunnam's thick Irish brogue is one of the unintentionally funniest aspects of this movie. It's so weird and out of place (unless Dublin is somehow an actual place in the RM universe) that 2 minutes into his performance, I actually blurted out, "Why is there a space leprechaun in this movie?!?" (There were a few expletives in there.) Despite that, and as crazy as this is, Hunnam's performance is arguably the best acting in the film. I say "arguably" because you can see all of the actors really trying to make their lines work, but it's so badly written and they have so little to work with that they'd be better off reading the ingredients on the side of a cereal box. And that's the case for so much of this movie. You can see a lot of people really tried to make this thing good. The sets, costumes, and prop designs are good, but the overall world building makes no sense so they don't coalesce into anything on the characters or the cultures they represent. The effects are good, but the tech is so inconsistent that they just stand out as bizarre inserts. The cinematography is... well, standard ZS fair, which isn't really THAT bad when he's got a framework from a comic book, novel, or some sort of basis to work from, but when given free reign turns into this weird combination of slo-mo, fake lens flairs, and weird, sometimes outright amateurish framing. This thing is a dumpster fire on a train wreck booking passage on the Titanic.

Empty and shallow sure but I wouldn't call it boring! I had fun with it! Much more than anything Star Wars or DC lately.

Everyone keeps calling these guys "Space Nazis", when, if you look closely, the design of the uniforms is almost identical to those worn by the Soviet Army.
