That’s never more evident than Man of Steel and BvS. He nailed the visuals and action that comes with Superman’s powers, and Batman’s abilities, everything else can go straight to hell.

And for me I personally believe people only compliment the “visuals” because everything is so poor they say that to qualify their critique, where as really in my opinion his films “visually” are still sub par

I think even his visual style is tiresome at this point.

I just want to know why he thinks stuff like the Jolly Rancher scene in Batman Vs Superman and the tentacle sex scene in this movie are essential to keep in the short versions but not the character development for our heroes

He doesn't actually have a story to tell.

The extended R-Rated cut was literally a requirement by Netflix. They literally told him that he needed to make a PG-13 cut at release.

I quit with 45 minutes left and I think it would have been 1000 times better as a series. I didn't care about anyone in the movie because there is literally zero world building in it.

The part that confuses me is they gave Zack Snyder an unlimited budget and complete control of this film. Why the fuck would this film need a director's cut. If it's just for ratings why. For example, okay. Let's say for some reason they can't show any blood even though there's tons of terrible gory stuff on Netflix already. Just fucking make the blood blue or green done. It's already a sci-fi story. No one cares. No like one review or I saw said they're doing this director's cut in part one and part two bullshit because they're trying to recreate the same fervor of the whole Snyder versus DC Warner Bros falling out crap that spawn this whole dumbass toxicity in the first place.

I love the fact that his Superman movie was my first example of a Dragon Ball Z fight in live action I think people who, like his types of movies are there for the spectacle and snooty critics don’t like spectacle as they’ve had enough of it or think it’s too silly or hard or convoluted. They want mature stories with characters which is fine it makes sense, but sometimes you just want to bang action figures together with a simple video game plot. We still need people with the kid at heart in them in this guy seems like he loves cartoons

Instead the marketing was Zack Snyder’s movie directed by Zack Snyder, written by Zack Snyder, and cinematography by Zack Snyder; which is technically accurate. This is very much a Zack Snyder movie. It was also sold on “Lucasfilm rejected this movie. Maybe it’s better than new Star Wars, maybe it sucks more than that. You’ll just have to gamble and find out.”

The first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy did that. Then when people saw the movie it gave people great nostalgia feelings because the movie reminded them of old Star Wars and great word of mouth about the movie spread like wildfire. With Rebel Moon it did the opposite. Brought to you by the guy that gave you a Superman and Batman movie that you probably didn't like very much that with this first movie wants to make a Star Wars like epic for a new generation

It's really not the actors fault, this film didn't have the strongest cast but it most certainly wasn't weak. Trust me, with a good script and a good director you wouldn't have had issues with the acting and felt they way you did

@@Johnny0lovely69yeah I did actually like her in that. But, the way she delivered her lines in this felt like she didn’t believe or mean them. When you’re supposed to be a “rebel” leader, that’s important. Ray Fisher and his second in command or whatever were way more believable than her in their short time in the movie.

It's just a blend of past movies. 80s fans know "Battle Beyond The Stars". Also, this has Magnificent Seven plot. Get together a ragtag crew. Protect and save the weak village/planet.

She can give a good or bad performance depending on who directs her. She's an excellent dancer, so she's great at everything physical, but she has no formal training in acting and depends on intuition and whatever directors tell her to do.

She was very good in last year's "SAS: Rogue Heroes."

Except Sucker Punch had a better fight choreography(not too much slow mo) and also a better storyline where i actually care about the characters making it to the end. Also great acting from Oscar Issac and Carla Gugino. I know some people r confused by the ending but it still had an easier to plot to understand unlike the mess and rushed scenes in Rebel Moon.

Also sucker punch, the artsy weirdness all over the place make it actually interesting. I am not saying its good, but there is a bizarre method to the madness with good acting and good ideas thatcget bizarre. Anyways i think thatcmakes suckerpunsh watchworthy by virtue if that. And the characters are connected with.

So it's like a fast and furious movie. Awesome.

Nobody tries to do that with fast and furious, or transformers, or marvel.

Dawn of the Dead was heavily rewritten by Michael Tolkin and Scott Frank. If you haven't heard about the Guardians/Nicole Perlman conflict, Gunn loves pursuing sole credit for stuff that isn't really his.

Zack and Michael Bay were classmates at film school. Great at visuals. But must not either write the script or hire better writers.

Dawn of the Dead is an awesome movie and Man of Steel is underrated imo.

Well in a Sci-Fi world things are still supposed to make since within the context of that world. You can’t just have an old lady beat up a team of fit henchmen and be like, well it’s Sci-Fi so anything is possible. You have to give a Sci-Fi explanation for how it’s possible, well you don’t have to but then it’s bad writing which should be called out. I haven’t seen this show though so maybe they do give an explanation. Bottom line, good Sci-Fi worlds attempt to explain how we could build up from where we are now to how the show is. If there’s stuff in there where the only explanation is just, in that world it’s possible, than that’s a fantasy setting, not a Sci-Fi one.

@@lutherheggs451 maybe that’s true also. On JL a close friend of Zack told me they wanted him for Force Awakens, or he wanted to do it and they said no. It’s been a few years so I can’t remember exactly, but that’s what made him want to make his own version.

No we are all aware of it. Hell the video mentioned how the film copied from that along with Dune and Star Wars. Not to mention the fact that the Seven Samurai plot is commonly used trope that appeared in many movies and shows, even comedies like Three Amigos and Galaxy Quest
