I believe he has been released in the wild in 2017. The video of him baby is actually quite old, despite the fact that it has been uploaded recently. Here is an article talking further of his release: www.orangutan-appeal.org.uk/about-us/news/article/a-big-step-for-peanut
God bless all of the team for great achievement in providing and supporting the orangutans from extinction. You are the angels of the wildlife and extinction of the apes.
Such dedicated people who look after the orphaned orangutans warm my heart. I love to see the youngsters grow and mature into marvellous creatures. Thank you for sharing 👍🤗
@@elcabo5367 You must secretly really love orangutans, because I see you on literally every video of them on RU-vid, making these sick and twisted comments to get a rise out of people. You can just come out and admit you love them -it's okay. Men can have emotions too.
Thank you 💕 so much for the love and protection of those " Old Men of the Trees ". I have left some money for your wonderful charity and 🇬🇧🇨🇮 I am over 70yrs old it would be a dream come true to visit . With respect I found it uncomfortable when subtitles were used for the young woman who speaks perfect English . This often happens with other documentaries . God bless you all .

Years ago, one of the soft release orangutans was attacked by dogs. He found his way back to the sanctuary to get his wounds treated and stayed until he was healthy. His friend (who came looking for him a few days after he returned to the sanctuary) and he went back out into the jungle when he was all healed up. They know where the sanctuary is and that they can get help there at any time.
Mom: Get down here and come inside now Kids: No! Mom: I will leave you out here then bye. Kids: Fine. *gone for six days* Mom: Listen here you little shit.
It's funny to see how they do thinks here when compared to BOS Fundation. BOS have these big prerelease islands were they send Orangutans for a few years before shipping them fully to wild areas they can live free in.
I have to admit that I would enjoy having an orangutan as a pet--I would like to test their intelligence, more than anything--but I would be completely guilt-ridden if I did. They deserve to be with each other in their natural habitat.
They are actually solitary in the wild. They stay with mother for about 7 years, then they go free. And these orangs are unusual, because they are brought up together. Most go solo, and stay that way, once they leave their mother.
Man I wish I could climb trees like an orangutan, just build a new nest in a different tree every night. I wonder how common it is for them to die from falling out of trees.
To: Stephen Brand - It would be interesting to know if any data has been collated on such incidents. Due to their physical similar stature, I suspect we might have a tendency to over-project our concerns. I am reminded of how large birds can speedily approach and instantaneously alight on what seem to be the flimsiest of branches without any mishap, error of judgement, or prior inspection. Nature has indeed provided many animals with uncanny instinctual abilities to survive in their own environment.
So we know how to raise orangutans in the wild eh? I have my doubts as to the long term effectiveness of these programs. I wonder what survival rate the program has. I would imagine many die once released due to a dependence on humans.
I hate sound of tropical insect, so I am leaving in sub tropical temperate zone of Arunachal Pradesh India. When summer arrive, lots of insects, bird and animals, birds appear sound make me mad.
Why are they consistently mispronouncing orangutan? They are supposed to be experienced orangutan care givers, you'd expect they'd pronounce it correctly. It's orangutan, not oranutang!
