Zuko is the only firelord who crossed paths with three avatars in his lifetime: Avatar Roku (from Season 1 of Avatar the Last Airbender), Avatar Aang and Avatar Korra.

I love how for once we actually got a bad guy team and not just one main villain, I also love the idea of having a dark avatar team because they literally really powerful benders from each bending type like the original Avatar team with the leader being a air bender

Zaheer is so badass, I was suprised when he went bald but realized that air benders do it to feel the air around them.

Specially designed prisons against benders were previously seen in "The Runaway", with a wooden cell in which Toph and Katara were held, and in "The Puppetmaster", with suspended cells in Hama's prison.

My theory is that the harmonic convergence activated some kind of gene. Meaning that the people who get air bending powers now might be late descendants of air benders. It could be possible , since air benders usually were nomads, so it's not surprising that, from time to time, some nomads decided to settle down or something like that.

Something I realized after rewatching this. Can you imagine how the air acolytes must have felt when Tenzin and all these other people saying to the effect of "the Air Nation is finally being reformed" like they didn't spend like most of their lives working and living like air nomads, learning from their teachings and such? Like, it's kind of touched on here with the farmer guy, but being an airbender doesn't automatically make you an air nomad. Bolin isn't automatically an Earth Kingdom citizen by being an earthbender, nor is Mako a Fire Nation citizen by being a firebender. But then I realized that most, if not all air nomads are benders. Every air nomad had a sky bison from like a very young age, about every air nomad had a glider, they have entire systems of architecture based around airbending (doors and locks that require airbending to access; as well as just building on locations that only airbenders would be able to access, as in all the temples), musical instruments, rituals, games and sports, even their baking (when Aang and Gyatso, which I'm surprised Aang didn't name any of his kid's after him who the fuck is Tenzin? Like we know Kya and Bumi, who is the last one named after?, were throwing pies at the meditating monks, Gyatso uses airbending to whip the custard/meringue. Also is being a vegetarian even mandatory for air nomads? When Aang said "he was even a vegetarian" to Avatar Yang-Chen, an airbender of the 4 he talked to, like she wouldn't know that air nomads are vegetarian if that was the default, it makes it sound like it's optional, like it was his personal choice. I'm getting off-topic, so anyway), and probably so much more. And then I realized that why wouldn't the mechanist and his people be considered part of the Air Nation? They can fly with their gliders and adopted their ideologies. Also, they were there at the northern temple, what happened to them? On a related note, are the swamp benders Earth Kingdom citizens or Water Tribals? But then why wouldn't what's going to happen with the airbenders in Ba Sing Sei have happened with them? The Sandbenders didn't seem too invested in Earth Kingdom loyalty or sovereignty. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it seems like some kind of like reversed cultural appropriation.

Zuko got his dragon from the episode where he went on an adventure with Aang. Remember he picked up the golden Sunstone he said it "felt alive".. Boom he made a bond with the dragon inside of it and now its his flying whip.

Here's a fun fact! The crew who made the Avatar franchises said that the sun stone that Zuko had picked up at the Sun Warrior's temple with Aang during the Last Airbender series was confirmed to be a dragon egg that the Sun warriors eventually gave to Zuko and now Zuko had gotten his own dragon. ^^

Notice that each of the villains have a very special prison; Zaheer, before being an airbender, was imprisoned in the mountains because he honestly didn't have any bending, and would have a hard time climbing down, Minghua(armless waterbender) was in a volcano to keep the moister in the air around her very low, so she couldn't waterbend.. And gauzhan, the earth bender, was trapped in a wooden prison in the middle of the ocean because there are no rocks there.... Now yall could've guessed were the last person is...

Fun facts: The foundations of The Red Lotus, The Equalists and aspects of the Dai Lee can be found in the 2 Avatar Yangchen books that came out over the last two years. There was an island where benders were sent off in groups and non-benders were taught Chi blocking until their bodies failed them. The fire benders were put through a torturous training until they developed combustion bending. The earth benders were sent into an active volcano never to be seen again (lava bending), and they found a chair with rings and a spot for a light around it and the chair had straps for the head and feet and it had been soiled repeatedly. So Pli (combustion) Gazon (Lava) the Chi blockers (developed using air nomad acupuncture maps of the body), the dai Lee mind control AND the absolute mistrust and hate for both the red lotus and the avatar. I can't recommend the Yangchen and Kyoshi books enough. The White Lotus is partially responsible for why Ba Sing Se is trash. They influenced water tribe chieftains and the Firelord to back someone that wanted to depose the Earth King. But back then the Earth King was nasty on the battlefield and a master tactician who promptly shut that ish down, marking the beginning of the Earth Kingdom being run by a lunatic or a moron for centuries. The earth kingdom has the most land and the most resources, so after the attempted overthrow, the Earth King shut down trade with the other nations and ish got bad for everyone, including earth kingdom citizens but he didn't care so long as he struck a blow against the other nations for backing his opps. There's a throughline in the avatar series of the avatar doing something selfless and it turns into calamity for the next avatar. Yangchen saves a fire nation clan from a conflict with spirits that they started and that clan later goes on to nearly cause civil war in the fire nation during the era of Kyoshi. She also neglected spirits and sided with humans so much that by the time avatar Kurok (water avatar) came along, spirits were wylin like how when Unalok was on his Dark Avatar mission, and what was his thanks for saving the world from dark spirits? Dies as the youngest avatar lol. Kyoshi founded the Dai Lee which was ultimately co-opted by the corrupt monarchy after her passing. Roku spared Sozin which created 100 years of war.

Look yall everyone wants to compare korra to aang so they start to hate her but honestly all the villains she faced were more threatening than ozai like so much like she fought the personification of evil how was she supposed to come out of that fight unscaved lol I feel like they may come around but her bringing back the air nation is not a fuck up thats where I'm confused about the hate for that but still love the reactions.
