Usually I would rant about the innacuracy, but it is clear they were aiming for the stan winston sculpt. Well what can i say they did it and they did it beautifully and now I need this.
I cannot tell you how excited I am to get mine (I've ordered both versions) and I can't fault them, a truly classic piece, and possibly the best yet from Rebor - now bring on the Carnotaurus!
The paint seems actually very reminiscent of the description of the velociraptors from the JP Novel, especially with the Tiger stripes and the more yellowish skin tone.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, it absolutely ruined a great day when I saw shartimus primes vid.It was so unexpected; but at least it was painless. I'm sad I never knew him personally and my only interaction with him was in the comments, of which he'd do his best to respond to. As you have put it jurrasic collectables he was a great guy with natural wit and a great personality, and will be missed but never forgotton.
Its such a shock as I attended Star Wars celebration and sat in front of him at a panel. I recognised him and so introduced myself and he was such a friendly guy. I never expected him to pass away so soon. My meeting him is still so fresh in my memory, it's like he is still here.
what I remember thinking was - here is a guy who is dedicated to his fans. RU-vid was his job, his life. That dedication left an impression coming away from the event.
Wow! This figure is so genuine, is so beautiful and detail too. In my opinion this is the best Rebor figure that you can get, just by the fact that it is a accurate representation of the Velociraptors in JP, also, it reminds me to the raptor that muldoon named as "The Big One". As well, thank you JC for this awesome review!
Love the vertical slit for a pupil, reminiscent of a crocodile's. A study in 2015 concluded that vertical slits in terrestrial animals indicated a predator and an animal likely to specialise in ambushing.
Another spectacular piece by rebor Waiting for you videos may take a while JC But! It is all worth to wait for professional quality of your videos Keep it up👍
Such a beautiful sculpt and pain-job. Almost identical to the raptors in the first JP film (thou I think they had a sand-mud wash over them that isn't included in this version) I'd love to know if this is an original sculpt or a copy from a stan Winston model. And keep on the good reviews!
I tried standing it without my base on a desk and it barely could. If you see in the video mine has a slight lean to it, could be that. But it looks great on the base
I ordered my own one yesterday, I'm kinda upset that the boxes don't have skeletons anymore, it made them really unique and a really nice piece, hopefully the next ones will have them again, because I really don't like these images on the boxes, takes away from the class and feel...
Well spotted! I guess this is one case where the image speaks volumes in terms of Jurassic Park Raptors, so it might benefit the product? Also technically it's a fictional Dinosaur really, so I guess the anatomy would be a fabrication
Everything Dinosaur ships all over the world. Sales to the USA are tax free (20% discount) and with the strong $ prices are extremely reasonable. Total cost of Winston including shipping to the USA about $34.50 (£26.00)
+Everything Dinosaur Do I have to do something like change a setting or something to pay with US currency? If yes then it would be helpful if you can reply back.
Everything Dinosaur is based in the UK we trade in Sterling (£), but you are in America and you will use a credit card or pay via Paypal. When you pay, your credit card provider or Paypal simply converts the currency for you. For example, if you had a shop based in New York and I went on line and bought a dinosaur for $50.00 from you, when I pay with my UK based credit card, the credit card converts the transaction into Sterling (£) using the current (spot) exchange rate between the two currencies. The current exchange rate is around £1 = $1.32 so I would pay in effect about £38.00 for the dinosaur model. You don't have to do anything, Paypal or credit/debit card provider do all the work for you.
there were big raptors, like Utahraptor and Dakotaraptor. This is a Deinonychus so it's medium sized. Although the scaly skin and pronated wrists are very jarring.
It looks great, but I would prefer if Rebor made more original designs and focused on making accurate reconstructions( they do call them museum class replicas after all) I understand that this is to appeal to jp fans, but I think they should be more creative. Just my opinion. But let's be honest, we couldn't count of any Jurassic world brands to get this quality. Even though they have so much money. Lol
It's a great model, but not my thing. Rebor should be putting effort into more updated models rather than copying JPs design. That's just my opinion, still a great looking figure.
I must say I'm a bit disappointed by this model. I mean, it does look great and faithful to the movie, but... Papo did this quite a few years ago, already. Rebor seems to aim for higher quality than Papo and so does the price of their models, so the least they could do is make something truly superior ! (Old Papo raptor for reference: c2.staticflickr.com/6/5296/5539246906_e09fc809ee_b.jpg )
In hand this does look superior to the smaller Papo Raptor - due to the larger size, the green eyes, the teeth and the overall pose is much more dynamic. But that's just my thoughts looking at them. To me it's more a case of now having two high end Jurassic Park Raptor models to choose from
I know, right? I just can't see dinosaurs the same anymore. These were hollywood monsters, I just can't call them dinosaurs. Don't get me wrong, they look cool, but I might as well be buying a Drogon figure given how mythical this design actually is
