The slots in the arms are for adjustment when you use the bolts that have slots cut in them, they give + or - 0.30° for camber or caster
@OsamaBeenHarris
@OsamaBeenHarris 2 месяца назад
Caster is handled by the upper control arms. Not the lower.

Great vid. Trick - have the new balljoint sitting in the freezer while you are removing the original. Slides in like butter, especially if you also heat the knuckle. excellent walk through!

Having my 300c that i just bought used that one ball joint being bad does make the car sound and feel like its gonna fall apart at any second!

Yes in my experience they sound like they are going to fall apart when they have any loose parts in the front end.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I just did this on my 2010 challenger and wish I saw this first! Just wondering, after the install, were there any clunks/pops/creaks that stuck around or were created by the job? Have the parts lasted?
@PerpetualProjects

You are welcome. There were no noises after the job. They are still going strong it has been over a year and the car is driven almost daily.

Nice video. Only think i would add. Is a torque tool. Some of this screws have their own torque. Like 120 f pound. 50 and 35 .
@PerpetualProjects

Thanks, I meant to say torque to proper specs if I didn't. I didn't want to give torque specs since they could change depending on model and year and such.

Mine is a 2011. The dusk cover did not come off after removing the 3 bolts. It spin around on there. May the 2012 has a section that is empty of the metal? Mine would not come off unless I remove that wheel bearing.

Always supposed to have the suspension loaded when doing suspension work on these particular cars
@PerpetualProjects
@PerpetualProjects Год назад
Absolutely, you want to tighten down all the bushings in the position they will be in at ride height because they don't rotate once they are tightened. Thanks for the tip.
@andrewhigdon8346
@andrewhigdon8346 10 месяцев назад
Only when it’s time to tighten the pivoting bushing parts, like the inner parts of the upper, lower, and tension strut, as well as the strut bolt on the lower control arm. And end links.

Amazon don’t make parts… it’s all third party out like advance auto, Napa and autozone and so on. I started questioning the video when you used a regular socket on and impact to remove the lugs.😂 Other than that great job/video.
@PerpetualProjects
@PerpetualProjects 11 месяцев назад
Thank you, if I remember right, those wheels don't have enough room for an impact socket. I could be wrong though that was a year ago.

So the only thing I’m having a hard time with is replacing all of these factory parts that total up to close to $3000 with junkie Chinese ones that could possibly break and actually cause catastrophic failure. I’m having a really hard time right now deciding on what to do.

They are better than the wore out stuff that was on there. While it could last longer with all factory parts, it isn't always feasible to spend that much on 10 year old car with a bunch of miles that isn't worth the cost of the replacement parts.
