If it's water based, then you would want a sprayer that is compatible with it. The versions I have here are not. They're good for WD-40 and acetone, and the like.
Neither was I until I saw these at auction. I was expecting to get one, maybe two working by putting all the parts together. Then did a little research and found those kits.
One major problem with these. You can't buy just the seals for the nozzles or the top cap. They want you to buy the repair kit for almost $11. Then you get all these other parts, when you only wanted the seals. So basically, these don't last forever. Also if you use CRC brake cleaner, it will corrode the inside. You get little black bits which clog the nozzle. Then you have to remove the nozzle to clean it. Then guess what? You can't buy the seal for the nozzle, because you wore it out removing it.
Good tip on the Brake Clean. I guess I won't be doing that after all. I found that the seals for the cap and nozzle are simple o-rings and plastic washers. I bought the kits more for the metal parts than anything else. I use them with mineral spirits, acetone and degreaser for now.
If those are steel, the instructions warn against using water based liquids as the tank will corrode. Simple Green is water based. If those tanks are brass, you can use water based liquids as well as organic solvents like Brakleen. Nice video though.
For point. I don't keep any of these liquids in the container for very long. But I did forget when I had Zepp in one of them and my nozzle got a bit rusty. Ooops. :)
