Very nice! That thing has way less damage than my 16 GT had. That should have been repaired, but it was probably a rich owner who would not put up with a damaged car. Score for you!
I am surprised that they would total this one! Brand new this would sell around the upper 60K range. Super rebuild project though! I am really looking forward to this project. The burn't/flooded Subaru project was cool but since I am a Mustang guy this one has got my interest. Thanks for the cool content & videos.
Man that's a lovely looking mustang. Think you will be fine with this one, very easy fix for guys of this calibre . Can't wait to see puffs of smoke from burning rubber. Another excellent video😉
Purchased from Rockwall Ford and you picked up for the Dallas Copart. Cool to see a Texas car getting another life. Poor thing didn't even have real plates on it yet.
@@ABeans07 that's the thing: you pay for insurance on a "new" perfect vehicle. If it can't be "perfect" to factory then they have to replace it. That's why insurance rates (least where I live) are so high. What's 100% stupid about it (where I live) is you can total your car, they hand you a cheque, you can then BUY it back from the insurance for the salvage amount (usually about 40% value of the vehicle. Take that cheque for the full amount, take the car to a body shop, get it repaired for $15K, pocket the remainder. I had a buddy who had a Nissan Maxima (this was years ago). Worth $20K at the time. He got into an accident, totaled it, quote was $7200 for repairs. He got the $20K. Paid $2500 for the wreck, towed it to the repair shop, had it fixed for $7200.00. He pocketed over $10,000.00. In other words, he PROFITED from wrecking his vehicle. Now most insurance companies give you one accident forgiveness, so his rates didn't go up but if he gets into another? It'll cost him $3000 a year in insurance.
Re: getting up early to beat traffic. I live about 2 hours north of Toronto. Had to go into the city to finish a deck for a customer. About halfway in between me and the city, there's a smaller city that many people live at and work in Toronto. So to avoid traffic I left my place at 4 am. Sure enough, like you, I hit all kinds of traffic at the midway point. Bumper to bumper all the way to the city. I was like what in all that is holy is this nonsense?
I agree! I have never been a big Ford guy! Over the last few years, The higher end mustangs are looking & performing better! Had a 1973 small block 400 bored .030 over to a 406 , using a stroker kit, crank & rods, amber lightweight pistons 11/1 compression, aluminum heads 202/160 w/hydraulic roller rockers, pushing about 750 all h.p. & torque sitting in a 1979 z-28 with 373 gears & man did she run! So, To say that I am a Chevrolet fan would be a fact! The 1973 sb-400 was a 1 year only 4.0125 stroke motor & I am looking for another? The point is, I daily a ford & it's a old beater that I have done a lot of work on but, Idk what you paid for that Shelby GT-350 BUT, She is going to be a Nice hot rod when finished & the damage looks minimal!!! Should be exciting & loads of fun to drive!
Insurance company totalled mine for same reason but it never left my property, bought it back on owner retention and got it all repaired and on the road again with nonsalvage clear title
CTR is almost done finale should be here soon the sti is now my daily driver for a few months so nothing crazy happens (it is all being filmed update will be in the new year)
thats the thing about car years is that car manufactures always say it's a so and so year car when it was actually built the year before . so having headlights from the year before isn't really a surprise lol. I always thought that what was dumb on car commercials is that they say hey look at this 2018 car!! I be like bro it's 2017. They be like well it's only around the corner! And im still like yea but thats 8 months away. so they on purpose tell you the wrong year to make it sound newer lol ((( car manufactures in a nutshell))).
Literally front end damage that is repairable. Only problem is that it is more expensive to repair the damage, since it is probably more then it is worth, so they total it. Or they saw the crash bar smashed in on the driver side and thought that it was frame damage and total it all together! I work and BMW/ MINI and when the insurance agent had come over and inspect on of the my cars to file a claim for repair he saw the sub frame has light bend damage along with a cracked oil pan since it is aluminum. The fucker total it. The engine was fine, just low on oil, and the damage was mostly done underneath. And just like that it was totaled. Anyways, this should be fun. BTW love your sti restore video for the 2009 sti hatch back!!!
These modern performance cars will be so rare in about five years. People spend a fortune on them beat the crap out of them and total them, they get rebuilt, then the new owner destroy them again.
ford never changed the headlight design for the 2018 and up Gt350, even the 2019 have the same headlight design, and no optional digital gauge kit for Gt350
I have a random question about all these rebuilds (Im maybe wanting to get into it but i know so little); How do you know or find out, about all the tiny parts needed/replaced, to fix a front bumper like this for example. On the Ford OEM parts site its dozens if not hundreds of single smaller pieces they're selling all as part of the bumper. Thanks!
Just the plastic clips that hold bumpers inner fenders exctera in can easily run 100+ bucks a bag for like 10 to 15 of them and u often times need dozens
