I wish we hadn't traded for vuc. I wish we would have traded lavine instead of giving him that max extension, kept Lauri, gafford, and Wendel. We draft ayo and Patrick Williams still. And then build around coby white, Patrick Williams and Lauri.
I’d love a DET rebuild from really anywhere from 2009-2014 or so. Right when they traded Chauncey for AI they were officially down bad, and the whole SVG era was atrocious. So either right before or right as SVG took over, (his first season was 14-15) even a little before bc they drafted Monroe 7th in ‘10 draft, Knight 8th in the ‘11 draft, and Drummond 9th in ‘12 draft. So right after 08-09 (they went 27-55 in 09-10) or right after 13-14. Something like that. Thx SROS 🙏
It would be nice to see are blazers rebuild from like 2015-16 with a young cj and dame and see if you can get dame that chip in Portland like they almost did in 2019
Man really could’ve traded up in the ‘21 draft with picks 7 and those two picks in the 20s. Especially after Mobley went #1. If you moved to even 4, you were guaranteed one of Scottie, Franz, or Cade. 4 & the two picks in the 20s prolly gets 4, maybe a cpl 2nds. And all 3 can play a bunch of positions. Cade 1-3, (Hali can play 1 or 2, prolly Hali at 1 Cade at 2) Scottie 2-4, Franz 2-4 as well. Hali/Cade/Lauri/WCJr and you can play LaVine at 2 or 3, or move him for a SF. Hali/LaVine/Franz/Lauri/WCJr, or Hali/LaVine/Scottie/Lauri/WCJr. WCJr doesn’t take 3s in this, so you don’t have a spacing 5. Lol as I’m writing this you legit JUST talked about how you should’ve moved up 😂 crazy timing.
24:25 is that Cam Johnson!??? As a UFA for like half of the MLE? 25yo 77 overall. Can’t see his stats bc of your face cam, but if he had like A- or better 3P, solid PER D maybe B+, plus decent potential (B, B+) that could’ve been a good pickup. Bojan is lights out from 3 regardless, but he always regresses hard around that age even tho he was having some of his best shooting/scoring years at 34, 35yo. Obv the DEF is gone, he used to be decent…but dude can still get buckets. Saying this as a DET fan who saw him do his thing w pretty bad spacing. No idea how CamJ progresses in this game, but I’d hope he could get to an 80 and be a knockdown shooter. He’s the type to get overrated on DEF too so I could see him having a really good PER D grade. Just something I noticed, never really seen him in 2K much now that I think about it. Idk why. Edit: that’s ‘21 FA too, so going in to 21-22. That’d be after his second season lol, so they must’ve declined his TO. He was near 37% 3P on 8.1att PER 36 in his first 2y. 55% 2P, 83% FT. Y3 42.5% 3P on 8.1att PER 36, 52% 2P, 86% FT. 62.5% TS that season, 46.5% from the corner, and finished 3rd in 6MOY voting. Dude turned 26 in early March in his 3rd year lol, came in to the NBA crazy old. I rly don’t know why I can’t remember seeing him in like any rebuilds, at least non BKN ones, since he got moved from PHX. Not just yours but in general. Very random. Went on a tangent about Cam Johnson 😂. Keep it up SROS.
He’s 39.3% 3P career too on 8att PER 36. Had a down year in Y2 at 34.9% on 8.4 PER 36 in 60GP, but every other year he’s been minimum 39%. 39%, 42.5%, 40.4%, then 39.6% this season in 49GP. All on 7.8-8.1att PER 36. 44% career corner shooter, never been below 41.7%…and 73% at the rim only one year under 70%. If only he was a better defender and maybe 1-2y younger, though he got a very nice deal. A lot of DET fans wanted them to go after him with an offer sheet, but I knew it’d take like 4/140 or something nuts for them to even consider not matching and that seemed crazy reckless. I mean their ownership isn’t one to cheap out, and they got him in the KD trade so I just didn’t think they were gonna not match. So many ppl still disagreed w me and thought DET taking on Joe Harris allowed BKN to pay him, as if they wouldn’t have been able to dump him elsewhere for like 3 2nds + cash or whatever on his expiring. I didn’t like the Harris deal, thought they should’ve gotten more (think it was 2 2nds and cash?) like 3-4 2nds, or one premium 2nd in ‘24 or ‘25 (DET own 2nd would count obv) plus a really high upside distant 2nd. Best of LAC/LAL in ‘28 or something. Or if it’s gonna be all distant picks, gotta get high upside ones. Either from a poorly ran organization, one that is refusing to rebuild like CHI, or a team that’s all in rn but doesn’t have a young star or much 1st round capital in the future, I mentioned LAC in ‘28-‘30 that’s a perfect example. Then of course the best of 2-3 picks is always great when it’s 5+ years out as long as it’s not OKC or something. If I’m getting 2nds I want high upside distant ones or from horrible teams that are soon. Even if it means taking 2 instead of 4. Quality over quantity, I don’t see the point of getting say a MIL ‘25 2nd, a SAC ‘26, DAL ‘25, and an OKC ‘27. None of those will be 31-40. Gimme one best of LAC/MIL in ‘29 and one best of CHI/LAL in ‘30. I’ll take those two over the other 4 all day. Another tangent, sorry I’m bored waiting on my new phone to transfer and stuff, takes forever. Edit: DET got a DAL ‘27 and a MIL ‘29 plus cash for taking on Harris in to cap space. The MIL ‘29 is nice, good upside, but taking on that much in to cap, they really needed that other pick to be a premium distant one. They had a DAL ‘29, gotta at least get that instead of ‘27. Maybe that plus BKN ‘27 or SOME other 2nd. If you’re getting only one high upside 2nd, gotta at least get two more distant ones just as more bites at the apple. MIL ‘29, DAL ‘29, and BKN ‘27-‘30. Those 3 would’ve been fine. Cheap owner prolly prioritized the cash over getting another 2nd tho 😂
