Thank you, I’m having troubles with the Weber on my Land Rover, I was searching for ideas on how to strip and clean it and found your video 🤩🤩🤩 A great confidence builder for me, I will tackle it with a clearer picture in my mind now. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks from the UK 🇬🇧
Good Old Mike's Garage it’s definitely been out to use since I got it from you. I have a subscriber that wants a rebuild video for a different carb, I’m sure the ultrasonic will make an appearance 😁
Wow, glad I found this video! Have set of dual ICT's in my '60 bug that's been sitting for a while since a move to another state. Starts up but runs like crap. Will try the rebuild. Old gas probably gummed it up real good! Thanks again for the info.
Yep, sounds like cleaning out the old gas and verifying the accel pump is working along with blowing out the jet passages would help. Give this video a look at also. Thanks for commenting, stay safe and healthy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ViIHPgukJVo.html
Nice Video and Great Job on the carb cleaning. Hardest part is remembering where everything goes when done. Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Keep VeeDub’n Buddy. BigW:-)
Jawbreaker....nice video! I have a pair of Weber 34 Ict to install on a 1600 any tips? Also, where do you get your replacement parts? Thanks again!! Frank in central Fl.
Hey man, glad you enjoyed the video! 34’s on a 1600 is a great combo, you’ll just need to get it accordingly. Local, triangle in winter park is good for parts or the VDub factory in oval. Otherwise shop around between CIP1, Wolfsburg West, AA Performance, etc.
Gary, I have the same carbs and I was wondering if you had the specifics for the rebuild kit you used and, perhaps, where you ordered it from. Thanks.--Rob
I am thinking of picking up a set of these. I am just wondering if I should get something with a choke. It can get a little cool in Massachusetts. Let me know what you think. Thanks for another OUTSTANDING video Gary.
Jim Lester carbs with a choke are nice, then again I don’t have any experience dealing with the winters up north. Just like any carb, if you jet them properly it shouldn’t be an issue. Hold the pedal down for maybe a minute to keep the rpms up a little and she’ll idle just fine.
Obviously as others have said, this is commonly used on old land rovers. I can’t get the emulsion tube out. Ok to poke from the other end with a pick or something? Thanks!!
@VWJawbreaker I don't suppose you have but it doesn't seem like very good practice to move any dirt into the carb rather than getting rid of it. Good, helpful video other than that though, thank you.
Hi. Great video. I’ve just bought a t2, I feel like my first job should be to rebuild the carbs. I don’t have an ultrasonic cleaner. Is there something else I can use to clean? Degreaser and toothbrush maybe?
Thanks for the feedback and congrats on your t2! You can use a can of brake clean or carb clean and some soft brushes and compressed air to blow out the passages. Hope that helps!
@@Aircooled_mike you should be just fine then. Most of the time you don’t need an ultrasonic cleaner but it helps with the stubborn carbs that keep having issues. 👍
After rebuilding my Weber 34ict carbs, the engine won’t start. I suspect it’s the mixture screws, because that’s about the only thing that changed positions. However, I rebuilt all the linkage too. The carbs pop and backfire which seems like an easy fix. The mixture screws were way out before I started the rebuild, and the engine ran, and it seems like I’ve moved them from 1.5-4.5 turns looking for some change. Any thoughts my friend?
Thanks for the video I'm running the new empi 34 epc carbs noticed that my left carb is dribbling Gass by the diaphragm engine works fine . Do u think it's loose bolts causing the leak? I'm going to check today .
I noticed your emulsion tube just fell out. On the empi version the emulsion tube doesn't fall out. I didn't want to mess it up trying to take it out so I just left mine in there. Do you know how to take it out on an empi version? Thanks JawBreaker.
I’m sure it will come out, they are probably just stuck in there a little more vs what you saw on these carbs. I’d try a small pick and see if you could pull it out.
@@VWJawbreaker sounds good, I will see what happens and try to avoid damaging the tubes. The only reason I want to take them out is to make sure they are not clogged.
@@greenlabelseries if it’s when you’re floored and under higher rpm, that’ll be the main jet being too small. If it stutters and then goes away, that could be the accelerator adjustment
Hey great video, really helped, can you please advise ref the idle jet screw on the ICT’s t It’s the last part on the video, are these supposed to be tight or have any adjustments like the air intake screw, thanks
B - rookie Racing thanks for watching and for the sub! I’ll check out your channel later this weekend when I have some time. I have a 6L ultrasonic cleaner but I’d recommend that you go to a 10-12L size.
Having trouble with mine. Car idles okay but as soon as you give it throttle it's spluttering and hesitating. I've replaced all the ignition parts on the car, adjusted timing, cleaned out fuel tank, replaced fuel lines, new fuel pump. Confident the carb is being supplied with plenty of fuel and engine is getting spark. I've followed your video and took out the jets, cleaned them, manually blew through them, new throttle pump diaphragm. Everything seems okay. Can't figure it out lol. Frustrating.
Chris Dermott it can definitely be frustrating. Have you gone through the dual carb sync process? Are you running dual single barrel carbs? If so, do you have the balance tube hooked up between the 2 carbs?.
@@VWJawbreaker Thanks for replying. Just a singular weber 34 ich carb thankfully. It's on a Mk2 1978 Ford Escort 1300. What I have noticed is if I shut the engine off, take off the top half of the carb.. The float bowl appears to be only 25 ~ 30% full of fuel. Not sure what the normal level should be.
William Cronin feel free to reach out to Geo or myself if you want to tackle one, Geo is much more of an expert than I am and you know we are more than willing to help if you have questions.
