umadsistaa Hahahah thanks from The Netherlands!! It's a shame because they can do this cool thing with their voices but the song was too slow to do it...
So I heard, that is why i feel this song is so strong, in which everything falls into place with their dad writing this song, their beautiful and harmonising voices, and the story behind it. It gives me chills everytime I hear it, it truly tells a story. Also this is a beautiful way to honour their mother + everyone that is going through rough times. Top 10 material in my opinion! @mark
Francesco 1711 So what. People like understanding each other. And cheesy 3 minute song will not teach anyone anything about culture of that country. It is even pretentious to try.
Of course, but I don't pretend to learn the culture of a nation from a song, but at least I could appreciate the language. You should not celebrate the diversity?
Francesco 1711 ikr? each country should abandon their own native language since everyone seems to only sing in English every single time in every single damn contest. what's the point right?
DISCLAIMER: I don't want to insult or to say that all the songs are bad but almost of these songs look the same or really similar to each other...I know that it's the trend for modern music but originality is more important: using the native Language instead of English, trying for novel melodies and lyrics...Seriously, most of the songs are the SAME music genre, have the SAME lyrics about love and are sung in the SAME language, English! I LOVE English (and I'm not a native English speaker, as you can see) but it would be more appropriate, as I said earlier, singing in the original language of the country which the singer comes from. For all this reasons I prefer ITALY (I hope Francesco will win this edition, he's fresh, talented, the music is catchy and in Italian), France, Hungary, Belarus, Portugal. Oh, I didn't know Australia is part of Europe...
Oh, are you new to Eurovision? X) Let's be honest. 2017 percentage wise has A LOT of good songs. 3/4 of the songs are great! I don't think it's an issue if a song is in English. There's a lot of variety here as well when it comes to genres. There's electronic, radio friendly music, ballads, drum n bass, fusion, indie, even a rock song.
Am I the only one who wish every Country sings on their naive language??? Because what's the point of EUROVision if every damn song is on English? I want to hear the beauty of all the different languages.... If I wanted to hear music on English I will listen something else, this doesn't even looks like it's an European sing contest, there's no diversity, it's even boring
Dalmaebda {달맵다} its just like the eu...and why uk people voted to leave it. The songs sound very similar and hardly any traditional music or nationalistic music- just pop songs or transexuals
Well, that used to be the rules years ago, but they changed it 1974 or so, because it was shown that songs that could be understood by most of the audience had a better chance to win. It was in other words deemed unfair for countries with a language that perhaps only they spoke. Sweden has many examples where out winning song won the competition in Sweden with swedish lyrics but then translates the lyrics for the eurovision. The year they change the rule sweden did in fact win with Abba's Waterloo, but possibly only because they were allowed to translate the lyrics to english.
My top 10 (from Australia) (random order)- 1- Belgium 2- Italy 3- Serbia 4- France 5- Greece 6- Macedonia 7- Australia 8- Belarus 9- Bulgaria 10- Moldova
Top 10 (from the netherlands): 1: BULGARIA, I love Kris😍😍💕 2: Azarbeijdzan 3: Belgium 4: Moldova 5: Italy 6: Sweden 7: The netherlands 8: Denmark 9: Belarus 10: France
So we finally got the 43 songs. 90% of them sound pretty much the same [same language, very similar rythm (something like David Guetta's rythm)]. Thank God we have Portugal, Belarus, Hungary, Italy and partially Croatia and France (I still don't get why they had to add some english words). It's so cool to celebrate diversity 😑!
Norway, Italy and Moldova were my faves. Really fun performances. But congrats to Portugal too, the guy is obviously super talented.Sending love from Croatia 💕
You have taste, bro 😍 Beautiful Mess is still THE BEST SONG EVER (not only in ESC) 😍. Of course 2017 is underrated year, one of the best in Eurovision. With many other masterpieces, like Belgium 🇧🇪 or Latvia 🇱🇻.
As you said: amazing. I was actually there live at the grand final when Robin won and it was c-r-a-z-y! The audience there were all happy, they sang along or danced to their favourite song and you could always vote for free aswell. It's a big thing in Sweden and fun every time, so yeah it's great. :)
I honestly don't know why Malta has been getting such bad feedback, the singer's vocals are out of this world and paired with the song "Breathlessly" create indeed a breathtakingly beautiful performance.
My top 15: 1. Bulgaria 2. France 3. Finland 4. Switzerland 5. UK 6. Iceland 7. Belarus 8. Denmark 9. Serbia 10. Italy 11. Israel 12. Australia 13. Sweden 14. Ireland 15. Azerbaijan

Portugal for sure 🇵🇹! To the people who are saying They don't get why Portugal should win go to comment section in the portuguese song and read the translated lyrics. Absolutely perfect
Belgium, Italy, Portugal, France, Azerbaijan, Hungary and Finland. The winner of ESC 2017 is among these. (I also enjoy Cyprus, U.K., Macedonia, Switzerland, Sweden and Iceland, I hope they do well on the competition).
The ones I absolutely love are Italy, France, Belarus and the UK. If any of those win, I will be a happy bunny :). I wouldn't be upset is Portugal won either. Mad respect for them going back to routes and sending something simple and beautiful.
My top: Italy Belgium France Greece Croatia Cyprus Switzerland Macedonia Latvia Serbia Lithuania Austria Poland Denmark Ukraine Summary: this year is not as great as the last two years but we still have to wait for live performances sooo it's still quite early now..... btw. I like how UK is ending the whole video with some kind of a message like don't give up on Europe yet, guys :)) I just loved the original more but it will end up in my top 20-25 :)) I hope our tv will let us decide our next year's song from about three songs they choose cause even though the czech song has got a good message the melody is just not something memorable sooo without excellent/unforgettable performance.... there's no reason to get into the finale.... too bad that I will only vote for 3-5 countries cause I have to start saving my money for Italy the next year :))) the songs I don't like: Georgia, Spain and Malta the song I'm not a fan of at all but I get why people love it..... Sweden... I'm totally fine with the rest.
Ok I think these are my faves: -Iceland(my kind of muisc) -Bulgaria(great melodies combined with vocals) -Belgium(sounds very much like OneRepublic, but soo good) -Finland(also sounds kinda familiar the melody in that chorus, but very soothing) -Portugal(lovely feeling and interpretation) -Switzerland(understimated, stuck in my head) also: -Azerbaijan(production and atmosphere) -Australia -Albania(an other underestimated one, amazing orchestra and production and vocals) -I'll put Croatia just for those vocals -Moldova for the sax -Estonia for the melodies -Austria(so very Austria, lovely) -Spain I like your vibe -Sweden tiratela di meno -and my beloved Italia bc he needs to bring it here next year go Francesco go

I mean they still are kinda, do Armenia and Australia sound alike? And how far back are we going? Because there were so many ballads in Eurovision in the more earlier days, or are we saying like the 90's or 2000's? I'm probably overthinking this one

I am Swiss, but I cannot get over Finland not qualifying. It was one of the top 3 songs for me that year. So touching and a great voice to go with it. Finland, Switzerland loves you, I love you.
I still think that Bulgaria should've won. Kristian is a true winner but these are my top ten favourites: 1. Bulgaria 🇧🇬 2. Australia 🇦🇺 3. Denmark 🇩🇰 4. Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 5. Sweden 🇸🇪 6. The Netherlands 🇳🇱 7. Macedonia 🇲🇰 8. Portugal 🇵🇹 9. Belgium 🇧🇪 10. France 🇫🇷

I am happy that a non English song won that year because it encouraged others to sing in their native languages again which is awesome 👏 it’s also something we (Germany) should try at least once again. My Favorites were Hungary and Italy and this year my top 6 consists solely of non English songs.
