Daniel But is a Right Winger not a D man. Know as a finisher and good hands for his size. Also a teammate for Dmitriy Simashev and both have 2 years left on their KHL contracts. The Coyotes are happy with both of them and see a lot of potential, especially getting them together.

They're also good friends, playing on the the same KHL team! That was the reasoning, I'm sure, on taking Gut a little higher than expected. They'll come over together, virtually as brothers; that will be great for both of them. Simashev was ecstatic when But's name was called.

Reinbacher being picked early is not a surprise, as a LOT of defencemen were taken early compared to the scouts. The price for good defencemen on the trade market is just too high, so drafting is the best way to go.

As a Sabres fan, who has always had the Sharks near the top of my teams list any given season (often in the top 5) I am happy for you guys picking up the WNY native in Musty. Was honestly hoping to grab him for ourselves, but with Benson still being available I understand the direction we went in. Love the benson pick as a sabre fan. But they're overloaded with elite offensive talent on team and in prospects. No team defence. Wonder how many of our top forwards in organization wind up on other teams in trades for dmen or bottom 6 role players.

Otto Stenberg and Theo Lendstein also played together in Sweden and were team mates for years. And they are really good friends. The fact that the Blues drafted them both means they should have great chemistry on the ice. Even though ones a Dman and the other a Center. Plus Otto said he likes to think of himself as another Sidney Crosby, then said Crosby is the greatest player in the world.(Sorry McDavid....) lol.

Michkov is 100 percent coming over to north america to play in the nhl once his contract is done in russia just like kaprizov. Don't listen to the media, casuals, or the bias haters. When the Sharks took Smith at 4, I was over 100% ready to hear Michkovs name said by Montreal representatives. Us Habs DESPERATELY need scorers. I was quite disappointed when Price started saying "David..." because I knew it was Reinbacher he was trying to say. Attractive forwards were still available to select. We already have good young defencemen. We need GOALS!!! I had The Hockey News' draft preview with me during the event. Almost all of their mock 1st round was pretty accurate, where each player was selected only varied.

Very infuriated with the draft, and how Conroy has done so far as a Flames fan. Anyone with me? I guess we are letting Hanifin and Backlund walk for nothing next season when we could have traded them to move up or just for a pick, paired with a horrible pick tonight that we could've got even if we traded down 10 spots when Perreault and Moore were available as well as the bad Toffoli trade. The direction this team is going is very head scratching.

Yeah I’m with you on the Honzek pick. I could stomach it more if guys like Barlow, Moore, Perrault, and Cristall weren’t available. But Conroy takes the big guy with underwhelming point totals in the W over slam dump picks. I was live at the draft and I literally told my friend that the only guy I don’t want them to take is Honzek and then they select him. And the Toff trade would have been more palatable if the got a second or a late round addition to the pick and Yegor.

I think so, the father of Nick Bobrov (habs director of amateur scouting) is a scout for SKA where Michkov is playing so they most likely had inside information that may explain why they passed on him..
