Packers reporters Tom Silverstein, Ryan Wood and host JR Radcliffe look at a crazy start to free agency for the Green Bay Packers, including the loss of running back Aaron Jones to the rival Minnesota Vikings. In his place: former All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs, and the Packers also made a big splash in signing safety Xavier McKinney from the Giants.

Jones got huffy and went to Minn for essentially 1.5 mil. He should have looked at what he had instead of what he wasn't getting. In reality he was being offered 5.5-6 mil with a legit chance at at SB. Now he gets run off tons of miles as the main guy on a team with a 0% shot at a SB. He probably could have played an extra 2 years in GB as The Man, which he is in GB. Everybody loves him, everybody knows him. He has a family settled here and now all that is uprooted for not a ton more money. It's a shame for both sides.

Jones made 26 million cash from the Packers over the last 3 seasons, 8.7 per is big money for a runningback especially for one that had only 680 total runs and catches in that span.

i don't blame either party for jones leaving packers should trim the fat with Jaire and Kenny also they are way way overpaid for the difference they make consistently and both have big injury issues

I am going to miss Jones. One of the greatest Packers of my life time. Jacobs seems to be an out standing human and also a tremendous player. All good things come to an end. The future is very bright in Green Bay. Dare i say, the best team the Packers have had since 2011.

It's kind of a measure of how close Gutekunst feels the Packers are. Premier safety, big money. Not wanting to wait and develop a safety from the draft but go right now. As far as Jones, it always seems to end this way with star players and the Packers. I do not blame Aaron Jones for not taking the pay cut, he has to earn while he can.

I am a packer fan myself, so please let’s be real since 2001 to be exact, and this team isn’t going anywhere until they address the front of the defense keep changing all of these defensive coordinators, for no reason if you are not going to help them out with some additions to the defense 🤷🏽

Jones /Jacob's would have been an incredible combo, but 2 more million guaranteed and 1 more total is a business decision. Neither side should be sour.

Jones should had shopped his services for another team a bit longer his agent did him a disservice landing him with the hated dumpster fire Vikings, it’s gonna be devastating trying to rejoin his Packers roots after football we’re his earning power after football would had been tremendous! Both sides lose but Jones lost the most. Reference the Favre debacle.

I am a foreigner, gamble only on NFL.....Jacobs held out last year thats why he wasnt so good.., we all know how good was the year before and he is younger than Jones and Dillon is a very underrated no 2. .plus.have you seen how many draft picks they have? This team is going to SB.

This negotiation obviously got personal - likely stoked by his agent, Rosenhaus - after it broke down and he found out that GB was signing Jacobs - it no longer was being close - it probably felt insulting & he was becoming 1B - so Rosenhaus likely pursued Minnesota to send a message as well as AJ33 sticking it by going to Vikings
