Rece Davis Talks Alabama vs. Tennessee, Georgia vs. Texas, & what Nick Saban has Brought to Gameday 

I love these two games…SEC has been fun to watch. Obviously as a Longhorns fan I am very unsettled about the Georgia game. They should come in here pissed and ready to crush us, however the horns can make a statement if they pull it off. Again, new to the conference and seeing a faster, harder style! Just going to enjoy because I’ve been waiting for the T A&M game… finally 🤘. Thanks for letting us in the SEC🙏

Rece Davis is an Alabama alumnus but like all of the Alabama folks in media (like Greg McElroy & Roman Harper) he’s the ultimate impartial guy at his job. He is spot on as far as why College Game Day numbers are up - NICK SABAN who is THE GOAT but also the most knowledgeable and articulate speaker in College Football and all of athletics for that matter. I’ve watched College Game Day this season to see Coach Saban and stopped watching the show in the last few Fowler hosting seasons and have only watched occasionally in recent years due to “Homer Herbstreit” & “Homer Howard”. I have loved Rece Davis as host since he assumed the job in 2015 and always prefer him to Fowler. The portal discussion around the season of upsets mentioned Pavia at Vanderbilt. That’s an unusual one in that Pavia PLAYED 3 YEARS at New Mexico State for the same offensive coaches all three seasons and then Vanderbilt also HIRED THE ENTIRE OFFENSIVE STAFF from New Mexico State. Most portal players come to a new school and have to learn the new school’s systems & schemes on offense or defense. Vanderbilt previously sucked on offense so it was easy to trash their entire prior offense and change to the New Mexico State offense with that school’s entire offensive staff so Pavia had no learning or adjusting to do.
