My father owned one of these and I played with it more than anything else in my teenage years if you get my drift😀 There's nothing that matches the Sansui's looks in the night. Even the Technics SU-R1000 would be looking at it. My dad had it paired with Bose speakers and the two were a match made in absolute heaven. I have a Marantz SR8002 that AV reviewers use as a reference and which I auditioned against 75 lb receivers and separates bi-amping B&W 703s which received reviews (these things compete with speaker 3-4 times more expensive) and I have to say that the Sansui with the Bose sounded insane. Played Kitaro's Mangekyo (from the album Ki) at full blast to understand what this receiver can do. If you can handle the music, then the receiver is just a receiver. But if the receiver plays like the 8080 with the Bose, then you'll know what I'm talking about.
Good morning friend, this is true!!! the engineers who worked for Sansui and Marantz at the time, are amazed at how their devices have survived to this day, this is really unbelievable after almost 50 years these devices are working, the ones that are manufactured today, if they last 2 years it's a lot , your story and your costumes are beautiful!! I hope you still have it, keep it and watch over it, as they are getting more and more extinct
