I legitimately believe that the grumps are approaching a new golden age. They were at their peak from 2015 - 2019, and now they've all of a sudden found their stride again and are definitely pumping out fantastic content again
I fell off the Grumps boat years ago, but someone recommended I check out the Danganronpa series. I watched them both twice and now I’m halfway through SMRPG. I can’t put my finger on what’s different or how it’s better, but it’s just clicking 👍🏼
Yeah I agree. I hated that one editor's style, and I reckon I was a bit sick of them, but legit I thought some of these were ancient clips, but they're recent. I'm glad they're still going well! Gonna get me back into them tbh
These are good clips :o I just wish they said what game they were playing in their titles and labelled episode numbers like they used to. I never know if I’m starting in the middle.
I think quarantine put them in a bad mental state in that they were so used to recording in the same room that being forced to not do so was a really uncomfortable experience for them. Thankfully there together & it seems like their much happier when their in the same room
I'd say the covid days were definitely not as good but that's probably largely due to them not being in the same room. As soon as they were back side by side I instantly noticed an increase in funnies

I haven't watched any new grumps in a few years, so I didn't really know what to expect. But I got to approx 24:00 where Dan is getting increasingly distressed in his voice, yelling at Arin to press M1 to put out the fire, I yelled "TAMMILED" and then Dan yelled it in the video and I bust into laughter. Happy to see some jokes stick around
Some of my favorite parts of these are when you can just hear allie laughing in the distance. Especially when she doesn't say anything, and her laugh is the entire reason you know she's there. There's just something really funny about a 3rd person laughing in the distance but not being a part of things.

Covid hit pretty hard when they couldn’t be in the same room and that era of Grumps was lower quality than the rest of their stuff. Bet most of those people never bothered to check again afterwards

Because there’s a random person there all the time now You don’t know what game is being played from the title or thumbnail because now it’s just weird bad clickbait titles You don’t know what part either Humor is a lot safer and therefore boring The videos are so long it kinda makes them feel dragged out and you have to put aside so much time and focus for them That’s why I mostly watch compilations now
