Wow that Heep cover is in excellent condition, Freakout USA looks interesting.....great finds Ron, always good to see your vinyl finds cheers- Lis 😎🎶☮️✊🏻
Great finds, Ron. You just never see even the more common US psych and rock bands over here. Stuff you take for granted over there. Although, I did find a copy of the second Mount Rushmore LP for a fiver once. I was actually dreaming I came across a large box of great 45s the other day - then I woke up....
Hi Chris, Right you are about Bush, forgot to mention that little fact. I need to start writing things down when I do my research. It's so hard to remember facts when it comes time do a video. Thanks for stopping by. Ron
Ron so good to see you. Cool stuff! Never saw that Heep poster, really nice, my German copy was missing it. I have an og Mainstream of that Tiffany Shade, pretty good stuff. Never seen the 2nd Mount Rushmore, I do have the one you show. Always a hoot, cheers!
Thanks for the report! Love the Tiffany Shade album - gotta find at least the re-ish! ...Mount Rushmore & The Gun both rock - as well as that (and any!) Uriah Heep LP! Never saw that cool poster, though! ...Always liked the Bush LP - found that one back in the day in the budget bins - Fever tree & Quill too! ...I found a copy of "Freakout USA" on CD a couple weeks ago - a fantastic album! ...I'm looking for The Yankee Dollar album on DOT - another fantastic record - I do have a 45RPM promo copy of "Sanctuary"/"City Sidewalks" - 2 great tracks! See you on the next Hogs Ear installment!
Hey Ron. Nice seeing you again. I have a few of those Mainstream gold label represses, including that exact copy. I like Mount Rushmore. Both Gun lps are great, the debut is better. Apple Pie Motherhood Band is under rated, both their lps are solid. I own the other People lp, on the lookout for that one. I've seen that Bush lp, haven't pulled the trigger yet. The last Fever Tree is average. I need to get that Womb album, I have the first. Nice find with Quill, I dig it. I'd still like to own an OG of Maggot Brain. Nice finds. Peace ✌ ☮ 8
Hi Bliss, I listened to Quill again last night, It was my second time. It dawned on me it's very Spirit like, sorta in the style of Spirit's first album. It's pretty amazing they got on the roster at Woodstock as they were unrecorded at the time. I did a search on how much they got paid for their concert appearance...$375.00
A great set of records there mate. That Mount Rushmore is a beautiful looking copy! Still need that 2nd Womb lp. Very nice that Uriah Heap poster, wasn't aware of that in the German press. Cheers Nigel
Hi Nigel, Let met guess, you're British and live across the pond.... That's cool. Yeah, the Heep LP was a nice find for sure. And according to discogs, it's the 1st variant due to the label layout. Ron
@@rockinronist I certainly am and do live across the pond Ron 🙂. Unlikely I'll find the German press here but if I ever get back to Holland (Den Bosch) I'll keep my eyes peeled. Cheers Nige
Nice showing Ron. Just snagged a copy of the People LP you showed. Not a kind of week you would want to leave your records in your car or even mailbox this week. Heatwave but humid as it gets. lkb
Hi Larry, Yes sir, the heat🔥is on! Phx will be 105 today, but will be over 110 later this week. Dry heat though. Cool you got that People album. They actually appeared on the Wallace and Ladmo show in 1968. I have an OG photo of their appearance. Alice Cooper has a new TV commercial for Arizona Casino. It dropped a couple weeks ago, it's on Y.T.
I can't say that I ever listened to Quill. But I will check them out. I was surprised to see that you did not have Maggot Brain already. Way to go on that one. That whole band is gone unfortunately. I think besides George Clinton the only original member left is Billy Nelson. Good to see you again R~ Rob/Boston
I just bid on the first Gun album. My copy of “Look At Yourself” is smoked. But I will check it for the poster. The mirror on the originals are all going bad. I didn’t care for Fever Tree’s 3rd album. Ive seen that Freakout USA album before on EBay. Great Pickups, Quill? That’s one I haven’t seen. I also have that Funkedelic pressing, Great pickups
Good luck on winning Gun. I like all the Fever Tree album's, some of the material is weak though. Quill is not talked about much in the VC. It has never been reissued on vinyl.... about a three and a half star album.
My kind of finds here! I love a lot of the Tiffany Shade. I guess they recorded those sessions pretty quickly, maybe a day or two. Interesting use of electric piano. Mount Rushmore's records are super stoned in the best ways. I parted with the 2nd one, I prefer this one too. Yeah, that long blues track was a waste of vinyl. I need to grab Gun Sight & Apple Pie's 2nd, still lacking those. I think People kicked Larry out or he left because the others were into Scientology...😳 I've always found Fever Tree's albums pretty spotty except for their first. Freakout U.S.A. is a fun one. I parted with mine during a trade, "Yellow Pill" was my favorite. Looking for the 2nd Womb too! The sidelong "Happy Egotist" on their first is a big one though, similar to "D.O.A.". Missing Quill too, I never see it! I got real lucky on an original Maggot Brain years back at a record show under $50 if you can believe it. Solid playing copy.
Hi Derek, Yeah, that 1st Mount Rushmore does have an underlying STONED to the bone feel, as does The Heads album. That album has grown on me. Happy Egotist is really a downer trip. Maggot Brain @ 50 is a nice price. SorinVinyl got a nice OG for $5 Congrats on 10 years! This year marks my 10th anniversary also, Dec. 2014 for me. Have to get over for your latest vid.
Great finds Ron, I don't have the 2nd Mount Rushmore but that 1st one I have and it's a heavy banger. Nice condition on that Quill, killer album. Do you have the Sundazed Live Fever Tree? If not, get it, it's good. PBThal says that 4 men with beards is a terrible pressing, I have the OG and the 4 men with beards, I think it sounds good. I need to do another finds video here soon, i have a bunch of stuff to show. Thanks for the showings.
Hi Randy! Live Fever Tree? No, I didn't know about that one. I don't keep up on Sundazed releases, guess I should though. Do you have The Preachers album? I can get a new copy for $12, just worried it may be weak overall. The 2nd Mount Rushmore rates 2 1/2 stars. Not as well produced as the debut, it sounds like live in the studio. You may know it. For sure, I'd love to see your latest pickups. Enjoy your weekend!
I have not heard that Apple Pie album or Both Sides Of People. An OG sandwich is pretty funny. My local store has three early Funkadelic albums but they are way too expensive. I wonder if the Bush charity was like the Clinton Foundation. The Clintons got rich off that scam.
Just based on what politicians make a year, It's pretty obvious politicians are doing some shady deals. They are becoming richer than they should be. Remember inside trading?
There's a recent reissue of that Tiffany Shade from a few months ago, on lavender vinyl. Haven't heard Mount Rushmore, but kind of curious about it. Of the 2 albums by Gun, I like the first more, like you said, the second has slower songs which to me kind of throws off the flow of the record. Cool Uriah Heep import, I have the US version, besides the artwork is there any other differences in the two pressings? People, Bush, Womb, and Quill I'm unfamiliar with but will check them out. Have you heard of The Churls? I listened to their only album on RU-vid, and it was great, but as far as I know, there is no reissues, and the one copy for sale on Discogs is like $400. Mother Earth is pregnant for the 3rd time, for ya'll have knocked her up!
Hi Michael, That first Mount Rushmore is a stoned sludge fest. Those guys were sub-Blue Cheer wasteoids! LOL You will really like Quill. Think Spirt's first album, but a bit more progressive, that will give you an Idea. It's a damn shame that it's never been reissued on vinyl. You gotta smoke a bowl and listen to Ed Sanders Truck Stop. I have an old hardback book that Sanders wrote circa 1970 on the Manson family murders. A really smart guy!
I think the Heep album is the same musically as far as US and German copies go, but I have not checked. Derek just posted a video on the Churls. But, no I have never listened to them.
