I made this kuzhambu. It came out very tasty. I went to the terrace after making this kuzhambu, the whole house was fragrant with the smell. I did not have coconut handy, so i went ahead with the recipe omitting coconut. But the taste was awesome. Will try it again with coconut again. Even my son who is a picky eater loved this kuzhambu. I actually thought arai puli means half puli. When u made it it looked good so right away I am going to make it. Wii let u know how it turns out. Thank you.
Mam my mother in law used to make in a different way we use regularsambar podi and puli brinjoland banana flower keeraithandu can be used in this seasonal is lmportant we have to add puli and vege and sambar podi make it like any other kuzambu once the podi and puli smell goes we have to season it in coconut oil with mustard used doll Bengal gramdoll and fresh coconut and curry leaves but we call it as Arai puli kootu

Please post a recipe of vendakkai thalara karamadhu. It is done in tanjavur side mainly by iyengars i think. vendakkai and puli potta gravy style. looking for an authentic recipe.
