Recipe video Surinamese loempia: Here is my mom's delicious loempia/eggroll recipe! It has a touch of Suriname and Fara's love in it! It's quite a lot of work, but it's so good! Hope you guys try it out! Feffie xx
Loempia is special street food from Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia.. U can find it everywhere in Indonesia.. That food comes from Chinese-Indonesian (Chindo) culture.. We spell it "Lumpia".. But during the Dutch colonialism era, we also spelled it as "Loempia".. It's called "the Van Ophuijsen Spelling System".. That name is attributed to a professor of Malay language from Leiden University, his name is Prof. Charles Adriaan Van Ophuijsen.. Maybe Loempia was brought by the Javanese people during the migration since 1890 to Suriname.. I'm Javanese-Indonesian btw.. I really miss my Javanese bro/sist in Suriname.. I want to know more about Javanese- Surinamese, Javanese language in Suriname, Javanese food in Suriname, Javanese music in Suriname, Wayang in Suriname, Gamelan in Suriname, etc.. Can you give a youtube channel recommendation for that?? 🙏
Thanks for the recipe! I’m making nassie this weekend and wanted to have some side dishes to go with it. Btw are you also a Surinamese Canadian? Robinhood flour gave me a hint😉
Take care xx
Rolling it in mixed eggs will make sure that the eggroll does not open up when frying. As for the laos and sugar, you should give it a try.. I LOVE IT.
