Kacie Lucchini Butcher is a public historian and the director of the Rebecca M. Blank Center for Campus History, which is an ongoing effort to uncover and give voice to those who experience, challenge and overcome prejudice on campus. Kacie was instrumental in the development of "Sifting & Reckoning: UW-Madison's History of Exclusion and Resistance", an exhibition at the Chazen Museum of Art in 2022.
Kacie leads the conversation on the past figures in eugenics at UW-Madison, the historical and political context in which they were inserted, how those ideas were used to uphold inequality and power structures of the past, and how eugenics was built on non-scientific ideas.
