Your dexterity in dealing with those tiles is amazing. Muscle memory of a life spent in the trades. Beautiful. I wish I could taste Tracy’s rhubarb and ginger chutney!
The roof looks great! And the salvaged château slate tiles blend in perfectly with their lovely patina. You would never know this part of your house was a new build. The garden is looking really good too. You’re progressing by leaps and bounds now! Cheers
I cannot believe how the lavender is growing so well, the deer are very distracting we even have then here near London, they come right to the house and decimated my rose by the front door, so I am not pleased. I hope your orchard survive. Your veggies plot looks good.😊
The Lavender cuttings l did last year have taken so well l am super pleased with them Zlata and yes i did notice indentations on the growing bed were l think a deer was sleeping 🥰🌞
The roof looks fabulous, love the slate and nice to know where they came from. Your like the energizer bunny Tracey, go go go. Please take care of yourself. ❤
Your property is a real gem, as are you folks. Gosh, you are so right when you mentioned the rapid increase in food prices. It's crazy! The world seems scary...we'll be eating grass soon! Good thing you have lots!!! Wonderful job on the roof Budo! Oh Tracey, you've just encouraged me to make some Chutney!
The roof looks excellent Budo a labour of love and attention. Like all the work you both do. Garden starting to flourish after all the rain. Have a lovely weekend both.
Last year a RU-vidr had a couple of his cows test positive for TB and it turned out that it had to do with the deer that they were seeing on the property.
The roof looks great Budo at last but the rain ☔️ will not stop and I love the grass it looks like a hayfield ready to cut for silage. Keep making the videos l look forward to seeing them with Tracy coming up with some new ideas. 😎😎😎😎
Budo you are a Mason. Sean's World I would say is a general old school builder, can turn his hand to anything. Another programme I watch, I would say the man is a carpenter / joiner, he has some sort of knowledge. The rest I watch I would call enthusiastic DIY-ers. But you would chop the tree down, plank it, build the door and hang it too!
Hi June thank you I'm not a Mason I'm a Carpenter & Joiner cabinet Trained and served The fellow you are talking about Sean he's just a Diy handy man apparently he worked for 18 years pulling cables through holes on the roads so not sure where he would have learnt any building work but we do get a lot of brits doing there apprenticeship on the ferry as they are coming over to live here in France and some come here to buy up good quality old French things and sell them of to jo blogs around the world for extortionate amounts of money to make easy money NOT MY BEEF ha ho all the best Budo 🥰😘
You definitely need a portable mic! Can hardly hear the person that is not holding the camera, everything is looking fantastic, well done both of You? Lovely seeing you outside!
Roof coming along nicely Budo, as with the garden. You’re certainly coping the rain across Europe, especially France. Went back to #18 Tracy for the shawl pattern, I’d written it down, but do you think I could find it 😉🤷♀️🥰 kept in a safe place now. Cheers guys be safe. Ina
Love watching the progress of the garden. Thank you for explaining the process involved in roofing. Your explaining how to make a garden from scratch is giving me the education I didn't get as I was a city dweller in California. I think these are skills we should be teaching our youth to be able to survive on their own. Love your work ethic. I learn so much each time I view your channel 😘
You are so welcome! and yes we totally agree our Granddaughter Bella is growing her own food in her mini greenhouse in the UK she is 10 years old it must of helped being around me in the garden . Have a lovely weekend 🌞xx
I was thinking as you were talking about the apple tree chippings that I hope you saved a large bag to use for smoking/BBQ'ing. The roof looks absolutely amazing. I am glad that you are finally able to work on it after all this time! Maybe you won't have weeks and weeks of rain so you can finish it.
Me and my husband are looking to get in the hood also lol really we want to get out and grow our own food and we're really looking into it. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖 PS Oklahoma is pretty level-headed and conservative but like you said it's coming sooner or later.
More soon than later unfortunately. I'm going to be screwed, here in Southern California, it's going to get very ugly. Not everyone is California is completely a lunatic, we're just stuck here, cause everything has changed. I wish I had some land.
Good luck to you both Jackie 🥰 a lot of people all round the world are doing the same and starting small communities now how it use to be. Have a great weekend 😘xx
Garden paths are looking lovely with the apple tree mulch and beautiful lavendar in pots. Amazing work Tracy. Gorgeous roof tiles Budo and you managed to get one Vlux window in before it rained. Look forward to seeing the next one ❤
I do like the history that the tiles bring to your Normandy farmhouse. It’s coming together beautifully! Smart move, waiting for the rain to stop before starting the next velux style window. You’ll appreciate the additional sunlight, when it stops raining! 😎
I wonder if you could mention the music on your youtube. Your garden is absolutely amazing!!! Snd the roof is going to be a master piece .. amazing people ..
Budo the roof looks amazing. Will that lime mortar keep water out from behind the flashing? I'm surprised they don't use a cover flashing cut into the stone.
Morning Brian yes I will at some point in time be putting a cover flashing on and on the porch too its hard to get lead here so I'll try and get some from the UK 🇬🇧 buddy
Amazing how quickly the grass grows, wasa good job getting it mowed, bet it will make wonderful meadow hay in the future.. the vegtable garden is coming along well, think Tracy is going to be very busy with it once the seedlings are planted out, at least you dont need to water while you are still getting rain. The roof is looking good.. looking forward to see the second window go in and I guess the second half wont take as long as you dont need to work around the windows.. Great job, have a good weekend Robb Torremolinos Spain xxx
I am kept very busy Robb a lot of which does not get filmed last year especially it keeps you fit and on your toes 🌞🥰yes it will be quicker and great when it is completed 🥰🌞xx
Hi Rosanne thank you in time value to lay all the tiles and do the cuts was 9 hours and the roof light was just over 2.5 hours so in total around 12 hours no more and yes the crochets hooks are none rusting type so good for 50 years thats plenty for us LOL 😘🥰
I love the smell of fresh cut grass. I'm a property manager of a small apartment building, and unfortunately the owner has just informed me that she'll be putting in artificial turf in. I'm so disappointed, I do understand though, being in Southern California, water is sky-high. I will miss my grass and the smells and of course, the bunnies that come to have a good meal. Thanks for sharing. Sincerely in San Diego California
The property looks so good but then your planning has been thorough. The tiles look super so glad they are repurposed to your beautiful home. You must be busting with excitement at the progress. I am. Taken care.
Every video shows the amazing work the two of you accomplish. The farm looks simply beautiful. The garden, the lavender, the roof all taking shape. Happy Weekend !😊
I think the apple tree will be happy to be going back into the land. Love your work as always. Maybe some day we can talk to the neighbor and get a tour of his bocage. Restoring it is a big deal in France, especially in Normandy when it was torn down during WWII because it was impeding the tanks.
Hello Tracey and Budo, apologies for the late response, i"m down with a heavy cold. Guys i have roof envy, it looked amazing and once those velux go in, the light there will be amazin. Just over 4 weeks to go until wheels up, big week this week, interview for my visa on Tuesday and hopefully last surgery on Wednesday. Garden looks fabulous and sorry to see the apple tree gone but those chippings will smell amazing and great recycling for the garden pathways. Have a great week and i'm looking forward to seeing how that masterful kitchen of yours is coming along, cheers 😊❤
Now you know why the French love their walled gardens. Who can blame them? I've seen gardens and landscapes destroyed by deer. In my book, they rank right up there with rabbits for destructive impact on the local plantlife. The roof looks really nice.👍
Yes we agree they are a nightmare and also if you have a tick bite you can get limes disease as well our friend had one had was very ill. Have a great weekend 🌞🥰xx
