The great thing about Lena is she doesn't have a lot of weight or super huge muscles, so everything she does is all about technique. She is also an excellent teacher!
Her explanations on recoil management is superb and actually is very simular to percussion.. whereas drumming your controlling the recoil/rebound ... she using simular techniques.. making me thing why didnt i ever think about some of these tips or try them out 😅😂.. lastly sharing her secrets which have led to her sucess at the range is extreemly humble and helpful!
I have been watching videos from several different instructors, but they all fail to mention one thing: Slightly bend your arms sideways to mitigate upward recoil. This is the one thing that i was missing which made me re-aim after everyshot no matter how hard i gripped or locked my wrist. Lena is a godsend. This single video along with the proper grip is all you need to practice to maintain aim and stance after firing a round. Thank you, Lena. I am actually angry at Tactical Hyve for never mentioning this. It's like teaching someone how to build a house without showing them how to build the foundation...
This is definitely the best video on shooting I've seen. I recently took a friend to the range who's never even held a gun and I used this and it truly helped!
I can't imagine a better, more-detailed breakdown of the elements of taking a proper, effective stance, along with something I hadn't considered: focusing not on the pulling of the trigger, but the release.
So true about muscles squeezing but not releasing. Took me a long time to figure that out in my riding of horses especially in dressage. So many similarities in upper body position and core management in this video I connected with directly because of my riding. Lena you are amazing. Would love to learn from you as I'm a total beginner. Cheers from Vancouver, Canada.
I recently bought a tactical pump shotgun and I'm barely getting familiar shooting and loading it. I'm very impressed in how Lena controls herself and shots the fire arms like it's very accurate. Love it! 👍😁
Have to love Lena, she's just so good at explaining things!!! Great tips and explained rellay well! And also is a joy for the eye, which doesen't hurt!
3:45 when I rode dirt bikes as a kid, the same elbow technique applied. The Moto cross racers, keep their elbows up, for best control. Elbows down = bad.
That's why it's best to learn from a woman. Men can use brute strength and get away with it without using proper technique. Women don't have the same luxury. They have to use proper technique to accomplish the same thing. Plus Lena is a damn good teacher. Very thorough and explains all aspects of what she's talking about. And I'm sure it didn't hurt to have the world Champion as a father.
the elbow technique is awesome.. Been shooting for a long time but not actually used that method. Been using it for a few months now and it's super useful
Nice job. It totally makes sense about how you need to start with your weight on the balls of your feet not neutral. I've been guilty of that. Also love the comment about liking the violence of the shotgun blast. Me too.
Excellent content and delivery, you're a great speaker and the way you describe how and most importantly, why, you do what you do is very easy to understand. The only thing I can say is please consider either no background music or at the very least turn it down some.
This lady obviously knows her stuff. From this video, to me, best thing to do is break down every action into small steps and work on those, then begin moving from step to step.
Thank you, Lena. I noticed that you're gripping around and in front of the trigger guard with your support hand. Would you kindly let me know what pistol you're shooting?
WOW, Your my idol Lena and your dad Jerry Miculek so much, i love to have a souvenier from both of you, i'm from Philippines, can i have your shirt if possible 🙏❣️🙏 Father and daughter you're the best!
Hello, I'm Jeff, and WOW! Some great info on your stance for shooting your Pistol and recoil Management! I noticed you put your Left Index and Middle finger on the front of the trigger guard. Can you give me some Info on this technique? Thanks.
Great video, It would be more helpful if you explain the three positions of your feet if we could actually SEE your feet, rather than a bench in the foreground. We understand the concept, but a video should be more visual than audio/conceptual.
I have never seen anyone put 2 fingers over the trigger guard before. I was always taught not to. I never had a tendency to do that anyways but I did see someone who never held a gun before put one finger over the trigger guard when hold them and aiming them (empty). I told the person that is not how to hold a gun and not how I was taught and told by several people not to hold that way. Anyone else have a finger or two over the trigger quard? Why? I imagine to help with recoil control? Aim? I guess what ever is comfortable.?
@Jim Weck II she has a video out on her father's channel I believe that explains her hand and finger placement to detail. Its been too long to remember since I have seen it. I shoot a 1911 .357sig so any bit to help tame recoil I am on it.
Love her teaching technique - of course her dad's as well - just fantastic info. But please sportsman's, please, please STOP THE MUSIC. I and everone else id here to learn about ercoil mangement NOT to listen to whatever that background noise was.
