Get a sneak peek at the new Berkley Theater in the Main Building of Greenwich Library while screening a jazz concert with The Bill Charlap Trio on the Greenwich Library RU-vid channel. The space has been reimagined as a theater for notable performances, lectures, and public events with comfortable seating, state-of-the-art acoustics, and audio-visual technology.
Bill Charlap is a Grammy Award-winning pianist who has performed with many leading artists of our time. He is known for his interpretations of American popular songs and has recorded albums featuring the music of Hoagy Carmichael, Leonard Bernstein, and George Gershwin. The Bill Charlap Trio was formed in 1997 with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington and is recognized as one of the leading groups in jazz. The trio received three Grammy Award nominations, for Somewhere: The Songs of Leonard Bernstein, The Bill Charlap Trio: Live at the Village Vanguard, and most recently Uptown Downtown (available as a CD or downloadable audio). Charlap’s collaboration with Tony Bennett, The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern won the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. It features Charlap and Bennett together and in collaboration with The Bill Charlap Trio and in duo piano performances with his wife, renowned jazz pianist and composer Renee Rosnes.
ReConnect Greenwich Library is available to all at no charge through the support of the Greenwich Library Board of Trustees and generous donors.

Easily among the greatest jazz piano trios working today. All three are virtuosos. Listening to them is heaven.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. When I watch a concert, I don't want to be constantly reminded of how thoughtfully we care about each other by covering our faces in an utterly ugly manner. Equally, I wouldn't go watching a gig where every two minutes someone rushes on stage an shouts: "The rainforest! Think about the rainforest!" There is a growing number of people who come to the understanding that the "community setting" mask wearing is completely useless, except for those who seem to give a lot about virtue signalling. So in the end it's just politics. And fine music should't be political. It's that very undertone that spoils it for me as far as optics go. I downloaded the audio and enjoy it ever since. We both get a kick out of the music here, so we seem to have some common ground. You get the additional joy of seeing how kindhearted the artists are, I'm disgusted about the imposition of stealing good people's breath without a cause. In a few years you'll probably feel the same. The world will certainly do by then. Nonsense ages badly.

Qué maneras de tocar!! La Polka Lunares y Rayos de Luna, y todo. Vaya tres!! Una pasada. Nota: tengo las entradas para este agosto/23 en Santander. 😄 Bill, impecable pianista, merece un piano con mejores súper graves.

What is about their concern for the health for their fellow human beings, and for themselves, turns you off for the music? They convey the highest emotional quality and their considerations surely match their goal which is to provide beautiful music to the world.
