Procreate Digital Pout Art with Cells - Reconstruct Cells Tutorial
Hey Guys, this is a quick & relaxing tutorial on how to create a cell & bubble like appearance on your digital fluid pour art using Procreate, specifically looking at reconstruct cells, or how I like to call them pop-through canvas cells.
Don’t forget to subscribe & share this video to friends, and tag me if you recreate any of my art!
Tip: Save your colours in your colour palette, and write your brushes down on a piece of paper beside you to make it easier to follow along with the tutorial.
Brushes used:
-Spraypaints: Fat Nozzle
Canvas size: 5000x3500px (DPI 1000)
Note: The smaller the canvas the smaller editing ratio %’s will need to be used for Cell creation.
As well as, the smaller the canvas/dpi your image can become more blurry/ less sharp as you liquify.

This is great!! I noticed, though, that you can do the 2 finger tap to undo changes when you're in the Reconstruct tab. That way you don't have to start all over again!

That is awesome, thank you for commenting so others know too. I never thought to use it because I always use my left hand to hit back space so I can keep drawing with right hand lol. Wish both options were available in liquify 💖💖💖

Wow I just found you and did a poured painting this is better than making the real thing wow thank you for sharing this technique. I was totally addicted to pour painting when it first came out. I had a actual studio so it was ok to make the mess that you normally get with pouring paint. I’m now travelling around Australia in a caravan and I’m limited with what I can make. Thank you so much.

I am glad you like them, and found some fun new ways to make art without the mess. I always wanted to do pour art but cost and the mess made it hard to want to make any pour art. Then came the inspiration to find a way to make them digital, thus digital fluid pours with cells was created. :P

oooh mine turned out really nice🤩. Glad I saw your comment about staying in Liquify...that's the key to Reconstruct working. Also, good to change the Size and drag it on some of the cells for variety. Two finger undo worked for me🙂

I am gad you like it, I originated the ideas about 4 years ago now. Check out all the different cells tutorials I made. you can make, from reconstruct, expanded bubble, bubble, transparent bubble, marbled cells, multi bubble cells, and stamped cells are the cell techniques I created & are super fun to play with.

Hello, thank you. My tablet has been acting up and the two finger tap doesn't always work, so to make sure the video flows well I just use my left hand to back space. 💖
@manisha-colorcreativityartwork
hi. I love this acrylic pour. this is so great. I have a problem. When I tap on reconstruct , it didn't work even during the whole time of liquefy process. after exit and back to liquefy and did some little Push again, again reconstruct didn't work. I did on merged base and colored layers. one more thing, is the base layer separate from the colored layer or do both have to be merged?
@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart Год назад
Hello. I find doing everything on one layer workd best. You can do separate layers but it will only move the paint on that layer nothing below. Keep in mind when in Liquify, the reconstruct only works where you have moved paint and the more it's moved around. Lightly shifting the paint won't have the same effect because it doesn't have enough paint to reconstruct. What you are doing is returning the paint to the original state before you moved it but in circles so it gives that cell-like appearance. I hope this helps. 💚💚💚
@manisha-colorcreativityartwork
@@digitalfluidart - yes. exactly I understood now. and there wasn't enough paint below too to give more cells (dots). Thanks a lot for reply. it helps. :)

Since this has been made, you can go back by using the two finger method to undo, it helps if you know your quick tools by finger movements/taps

How can we use this kind of technique to add to a drawn object? For example I draw a large flower and want to use my design that you just showed please
@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart 2 года назад
If you want to "liquify and add reconstruct cells to the flower" I would do the line work on a separate layer. Colour a 2nd later underneath the line work. Liquify and cell the 2nd layer. Then erase any colour that spills out of the line work 💚

Can you teach making this effect as a seamless pattern?
@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart 10 месяцев назад
Hello, when making a seamless pattern the image may have sharp edges verses smooth edges, when mirroring it. For a seamless pattern, the easiest way is to make your canvas square 5000x5000. That way, once you are done your image, you can shrink it to 2500x2500 and multiply the image 4 times. Then rotate/flip them to fit around each other, which should create a seamless pattern. I hope this helps.
@chuchingchuang9312
@chuchingchuang9312 10 месяцев назад
@@digitalfluidart thank you for the advice. I think the difficulty is how to make edge matches right and left, and up and down when it comes to liquid effect, I know how to do in stripes but not sure about this effect in seamless form. 😂
@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart 10 месяцев назад
@@chuchingchuang9312 It is very quick, I'll try to make a youtube short doing it, it's all just rotating and flipping. Once I make the short I will tag you in the comments 💚

I like the irony of so much work going into getting the same result as traditional which uses minimal effort
@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart 2 года назад
With these you can make them as easy or as hard as you like. With real acrylic pours it isn't as easy as you would think, making the colours turn to mud is really easy & takes skill not to make it look muddy. 💖

Is 300dpi ok? Great teaching / learning. Also are you not using layers ? Thanks ♥️
@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart 2 года назад
If you do not wish to sell your art you can use any DPI really. If you wish to put your art on clothing/products minimum is 350 DPI for most places. 600 is a good base. For doing NFTs or anything that needs higher quality 1000 DPI and saving files as PNG. 💚💚💚

@digitalfluidart
@digitalfluidart 2 года назад
Hello. Could you make a video on here to show what is happening and tag me? You have to use the Program Procreate. And you have to stay in liquify the entire time to make reconstruct cells. For example. If u make a pour image with liquify and exit liquify to do something else, and then try to go back into liquify it won't work. Once u exit liquify, the paint sets. I am not sure if that is the issue or not you are having. Let me know if you make a video 💖
