Great roundup of these three products. I like the ClonerAlliance UHD Pro for recording IPTV programs in concert with my firestick. I only have a 1080P TV at the moment, but this unit will be great when I move up to 4K HD.

Great Video! Cloner Alliance UHD Pro for me! Simplicity is key for me...I record a lot of stuff on spur of the moment. So hitting a button and away you go is great. I also like that recording in the H.265 format uses less space for recording...more storage room on your flash or hard drive. Better quality, too! 👍

WOW! Nice giveaway! And nice review! You've convinced me to subscribe! I would really like the Cloner-Alliance ViewPRO Portable, then I could digitize videos when I visit family, and watch recordings when I'm outside cell coverage! I could also time-shift live streams, since I'm not at home all the time! Though, I'd be happy with ANY of them! 🙂

Awesome review! Dig the ClonerAlliance ViewPro - I like the idea of having the monitor built-in, so you can view the video being captured or use it as a player. I have a boatload of old family videos (multiple formats) and this would definitely help get them in digital format to share!

Thank you so much for all of your informative videos. Will Cloner-Alliance recorders work with Direct TV streaming and Xfinity? I want to back up my DVR recordings before they get auto-deleted. Thank you.

The Cloner Alliance Box Pro or the View Pro would be great, While watching your video, I was thinking I have a German friend for several years and he doesn't have internet, and was thinking would be awesome to record News and variety shows from Germany for him from my TV service, all I would need to get would be larger size flash drive, He can use in his tv. He is always asking me about German news etc. Thanks so much for doing this offer.

Hell Rich, found your video by chance... I was looking for a device that records from different source devices. My choice is the Cloner Alliance View Pro I like it's recording capabilities,. If I had one, I'd use it to record instructional videos on how to train amputated limbs, (I am an amoutee myself and a trainer) to help those that need help in rehabilitation after losing a limb. I am planning on starting a RU-vid Channel just for that purpose. Now that I know this product exists, it would greatly help me to make great videos. Thanks for the opportunity Rich. Bless you, Sir 🙏

I would love to own one of these. I watch RU-vid on my tv on and off all day long. Unfortunately I am disabled, no sob story, just a fact. I'm hoping to transfer the best of the tubes videos to other devices that will allow me to keep occupied during long trips to clinics, etc. Not sure how difficult this will all be but the struggle will be worth it! Hope you consider me otherwise, GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS to the winner!

I would use the ClonerAlliance UHD Pro to make live wallpapers for Steam and desktops in general. I like the fact that I do not have to have a PC or use the one I have to use it.

Hey Richman, I have watched several of your videos reviewing and showing the features of the Cloner Alliance products in order to help me decide which model would suit my needs. Like your screen name says, you really know your stuff. I think for my purposes, the Cloner Alliance UHD Pro 4K would fit my needs. My local NHL hockey team is switching to streaming their games this coming season, and I can't always be available to watch it live. In the past, I have always recorded the games on my DVR. But I will need the Cloner Alliance View Pro in order tor record the games in the future. I like the feature that allows both H264 and H265, with H265 storing a smaller file.. One question I have about all of these devices is, does it have passive video pass-thru if the cloner is turned off, or must it always be turned on in order for the video to be displayed? Either way, it is still a fantastic device.

I have a problem where I’ll record maybe 10 different videos between 6 minutes and 30 minutes each into a single storage device of maybe 6 gb. When I move them to a pc some of the videos will say that the video won’t play. Any idea? Is this a codec issue? Would saving these to a 1tb device change this outcome?

My son and I want to set up a media server in my media room, I have a 120 inch screen and using an Epson laser projector. My collection of movies consist of DVD’s, laser disks and VHS tapes. My DVD players are ultra UHD so I would be considering the cloner alliance UHD Pro. I like the idea of the cloner alliance that I can hook up the different types of video equipment I have. I’m not sure at this time how I am going to set everything up. I am considering using Plex and building my media server on that. If anyone has any ideas, I would like to hear it. I already purchased a two bay hub and 4 Seagate 12 TB hard drives. I believe doing the project and having a private media server in my room would be fun , when the project is finished, I might put all my movies in storage or take most of them to the Goodwill. Richman, I enjoy watching your channel. Thank you.

it appears that the cloner-alliance box pro does not recognize a TCL roku smart tv as a video source.should i buy a roku streaming device attach it to the TCL roku tv for that streaming device to become a video source?
@MrJamezk
@MrJamezk Месяц назад
Yes, you should. Having a TV with built-in streaming software is very convenient, but it also means that you're stuck watching that content on that TV, so if anything happens to the TV, you can't use it as a streaming stick, and watch the video on something else. I had that happen to me, and I discovered that not only can you not view the streams on another TV, but that each TV is so unique (even with the same model from the same manufacturer), you CANNOT replace the screen! (I think that is part of planned obsolescence)! You can't even jury-rig something. I just ended up buying a Roku Express 4K+. Though I haven't been able to bring myself to throw out a $300 TV. (It was the previous years top of the line, and had been replaced and marked down big time.

@@MrJamezk, what would happen if you hooked up your newly purchased roku express 4k+ to your tv that has the built-in streaming software?will the roku express become your video source?will it interfere with the built in streaming software? dave
@MrJamezk
@MrJamezk 28 дней назад
@@rossi9368 No! And yes. You are actually describing my current setup. I have multiple devices hooked to my various accounts, and they don't interfere with each other. I have an LG Television, Roku Express 4K+, I Have an Onn (Walmart) TV Box, (and when I find it, a Fire TV stick I bought just for the heck of it), all three of them are connected to my Prime Video Account, my (HBO) MAX account, STARZ, and various other accounts, and everything works fine.* *(With the caveat that I stupidly chose to allow the remotes for my various devices to control each other! This means that when I turn on my TV, my ROKU jumps to the forefront, so that if I want to change HDMI sources, or watch local, over-the-air TV, I have to change back to the TV. And since the remotes are not compatible with each other, it still matters which remote you use. I tried disabling this functionality, even factory resetting my Roku, since it had automatically brought everything over, and I'd put hours into getting my TV set up how I wanted. Unfortunately, talk that did was scramble my channels on my Roku, and left the TV wanting to be subservient to the Roku. Luckily, the TV only has 2 HDMI ports, so I installed a switch. The TV can't switch to the Roku if the switch is set to something else. And amazingly, when I turn the TV on (which still turns on the Roku), if it can't talk to the TV, it eventually shuts off. (Yay!) ) I imagine that the providers are used to having multiple devices on a single account, as some things are available on one device, but not on another. Which I use depends on what I can get on what, the resolution, the stream reliability on each device (Electric NOW, for instance is pretty flakey on everything, if you're looking for something, but settles down while you watch. BUT my LG TV does NOT show episode titles, while my Roku does), and how fast the devices. The LG TV is HORRIBLE for browsing, with a good 3 second pause between pressing a button, and the TV reacting. The Prime app is pretty robust and reliable on whatever device it's running on, though MAX does give you different feels on different devices. IF you're wondering, this is the order in which I use my various devices. 1) The TV is the most convenient when I know what I want, where it is, and is only a few button presses away. Otherwise, it's the slowest device I have, and if finding what I want involves much more than a few clicks, I'm onto the next device. 2) The Roku is Fast, Robust and has many many more channels. (Maybe too many.) 3) The Onn Box is supposed to be a side-loading champ. (Haven't tried it yet, but I have some apps I'm anxious to try. 4) As for the Fire Stick, I've used it less than the Onn Box (hard to use what you can't find), but I find Prime Video's app to be slightly better at searching available streams, not just their own, but also for the services that you can subscribe to from inside their app, like MAX and STARZ, than even Roku. The experience of using their app across multiple and varied hardware is remarkably consistent. I imagine they program it for each separate platform to get this consistency. While, say, MAX can feel like a completely different app from one platform to the next, with the quirks (like speed) showing through the interface. The problem is, if you have a separate, say MAX, account you subscribe to, you CANNOT simply type your information in, and use Prime Video to search their content. At least that seems to be the consensus. I'm hoping that the Fire Stick will circumvent that issue, and will still allow me to use their interface to search MAX and STARZ, and anything else I subscribe to. Just as Roku allows you to search the contents of many, if not most, of the other providers you've installed on their device. It's not perfect, but I could NEVER search through even a significant fraction of the services that I've installed on my Roku, so it's still extremely useful. But I imagine it depends on how much these 3rd party providers are willing to play ball with Roku, providing access to Roku in a format that their devices can interpret. So the same would be true for Prime Video, and it's 3rd Party providers.
