The CO's don't like working without AC just like the inmates. I wish Florida would publish the shortage of CO's in the prisons and jails, it's thousands across the state.
As a Master HVAC contractor of 26 years I am very concerned that there are any state building without Air Conditioning for the simple fact that the hot humid air destroys buildings and structures quickly. I’m not as worried about the inmates.
That's absolutely inhumane! No one should have to suffer this heat! We wouldn't even let dogs go without air conditioning! These are fellow human beings! I live in Florida and I cannot imagine being without air conditioning! It would be torture!
Your point is well taken, but maybe we shouldn’t compare living conditions for convicted felons with animals whom for all intents and purposes are there to innocently offer their devotion to humans. Sounds like hyperbole but you know, maybe you could have said cats.
@@Pedantic1953Well perhaps many of these prisoners who btw often come from poor communities would got the the help they needed before tbey started spiraling out of control they would be devoted too.. However their wealthier criminal counterparts who are no more devoted go prison they don't have to deal with B.S. even if are in prison for murder.
Aaaannndddd people like you, only contribute to the problem. They are inmates, but they are people at the end of the day and deserve some human dignity.
Even if you don't care about the inmates (which is a pretty bad attitude to have), the guards have to spend at least 8 hours a day in those conditions too.
You would of think Florida would of known this beinging Florida is a very Hot state..this is a shame..A high respected state has to be told to provide air conditioning is so uncalled for.
The people these inmates killed do they have any air conditioning? Did these inmates furnish air conditioning to the people they raped, kidnapped ? I don't think so.
Not all inmates are killers, some of them had Drug Possession, some committed Robbery without Violence. Some of them committed assault without weapons. Not saying there are ZERO murderers, but not all of them are killers
What about all the wrongfully convicted and those coerced into pleading guilty? What about those who did no harm but were convicted of disobeying politician's dictates called "laws" - rules no one consented to have applied to them? What about those who did little harm but are being cruelly punished with long sentences? What about the fact that caging human beings as if they are rabid animals is inhumane?
Why hasn't anyone investigated Lake Butler Reception & Medical Center. Its supposed to be a Medical center and its a huge birdcage. Broken windows, no insulation, AC, bird droppings inside and birds inside also. That place is dangerous. Need change fast.
All people deserve to live in the proper environment. Even if they've committed a crime, many will someday be released and deserve to be treated with basic human needs. A/C in this hot and humid state is a basic human right. They are serving their time. They're locked up. We don't need to BBQ anyone while they serve out their sentence. Have some basic human dignity.
Can global warming reduce crime? Who wants to be a criminal and bake inside a jail or prison during global warming?? Also, cant prisoners open up the portable units and make weapons??
This is completley unacceptable and undermines the rule of law which in turm threatens peace. Any authority figure who allowed this to happen need to be deposed immediatley
Most of the people in prisons didn't harm anyone. Many are wrongfully convicted. Many were coerced into pleading guilty. Most have never threatened or harmed anyone but are being punished for disobeying politician's dictates called "laws" - rules no one ever consented to have applied to them. How is caging human beings not inhumane?
