Yikes! Those are some of the highest prices I've ever seen in my many years of record collecting! I know those co-ops charges high rent but still those vinyl prices are incredible. That's what happens when antique sellers try to sell records - I see that all the time but this place takes the cake!

That was an interesting visit. There were so many booths with stacks of records. It would have been easier to go through the records if they had been organized like the first one in the video. After a while I just wanted to get out of there. 😀

I've bought quite a few from that first booth you show (Gold Crest). That is the best curated booth in there, so at least you will find some good stuff. Of course, there are some where the price just doesn't make sense and you just have to pass. Most of the other booths are a combination of crap records, poor condition, and high prices. But, as you said, a very interesting place overall!

Some of those prices are ridiculous….it’s odd that the record store prices were better than an antique mall!

I agree. I'm not sure what they were thinking with some of the prices. I wonder if they price high at first and then reduce the price over time if it doesn't sell. It would be interesting to go back in a few months and see if any of the prices have changed. Thank you for watching.

@@musictalkwithjohn Most have little knowledge when it comes to records so they rely on their price "guides" and SKU guns/phones without regard to conditions or editions/pressings. If it's not in the guides or online they are totally lost and throw mud in the fan hoping something sticks. They look on discogs or ebay and see what prices sellers there are hoping for but not what price the items actually SOLD for.

@@musictalkwithjohn I am in no way a specialist, but there seem to be a lot of rare Beatles, and some UK rock from the 60s which surprised me. I have never seen GTO for sale here. But I have never ordred vinyl from discogs. Slightly lower prices than expected for old, rare music. Higher prices for more common stuff. But a lot of European music was missing. But this was probably not statisticaly significant 🙂
