In this video, I give a Studio tour in the middle of a week of sessions here at the recording studio. The artist has flown in from the east coast and we hired session players to come to play on the record. Take a look at the recording studio, the gear we are using, and how were are using the mics on certain instruments, and hear examples.

RSL...I got to be honest with you, I was in the music biz for over twenty years. I like to drop in watch vids about the creative side of making music (instruments, amps, studio gear...etc,). I especially enjoy dropping into your vids, you give great presentations and you have more knowledge ...keep up the great work! Peace...

That means a lot. Really. The people who know who still enjoy it. That makes me feel like I’m doing ok. Cheers

I like the term 'dropping in''. I have to agree, I find there is also an element of humility and experimentation vital to see in a sea of experts.

If you have the money and the ability, working with live musicians in a session in a solid studio like this, it's always worth it. Even if you could potentially get similar results otherwise, the experience pays for itself. Love the content fam

Session tours, I love it!! I honestly don’t care what a studio has on hand, I just care what they’re using in the moment for what since it shows me more about the thought process of listening and reacting than what looks cool in the room or on paper to the talent ((shudder))😅

@@RecordingStudioLoser I've had similar thoughts. But if you run a bright overhead (Like a soyuz 013 as I am) you can get enough cut for the heavier projects.

The green bullet on the floor... that's brilliant. Have you considered a video about a bad session? Not necessarily a bad artist, but a day when everything went wrong, something important broke, or the session just didn't necessarily go well? I'd be interested to see how you handle that.

@@RecordingStudioLoser don't get me wrong I love Studio tours as much as anyone else but it's a once in a long time thing. You doing a session tour can be done constantly! It's an amazing idea 🤘 the only way it could be better is If you showed the front end more, the signal flow of the gear used on each mic. Thanks for the great content Jeremy you rock!
