Thank you!!! It worked. I couldn't find a very important document and it suddenly was gone. Not in trash, I wasn't able to use the shared link I had sent out, there was no trace of it anywhere. I had a mini heart attack all day until I found this and they recovered my file!

This works because you only just deleted the file within the 30 days, therefore it could be recovered. What if you've deleted a file over 30 days ago?

The exact way to contact a Google chat specialist seems to have changed (I did not find "Call / Chat / Email" buttons in the help section any longer), but if you search around and are able to find a specialist to chat with, they can still help with this problem. Thanks for this video!

This video is old, but the method still applies. Start a chat and they will try to help you by initiating a recovery process. If your deleted files are recent, there's a pretty good chance you could get all of them back once the process is completed.

Guys if your not able to find the Chat option.. search as Chat Support in the search bar and you will find an immediate response from google people and they will do the needful :-)

Does anyone know if its possible to recover files that were deleted over a year ago? I'm assuming it probably isn't, but if there is a way, I would love to know. (I accidentally deleted some important files a while back without realizing, and only just realised now. Since it's been over 30 days, they were permanently deleted from the bin. 🙁)

I don't guess there's anything you can do if you reset your computer and lost files, I know such files were never deleted or sent to the trash. I just wish there was a way to undo resets and get My Drive back to the way it was before the reset.

there is no chat option but if you goto help center and select recover deleted files and scroll to the bottom you can find "contact us" option click on it and sign in with Gmail ID and they will do the rest.

As of July 2021 there's no chat option found but just sending a "recover" request with no option to add any details.

Can you restore thing from the google drive, I saved photos on a google doc (didn’t k ow google photos existed) but I did it offline so the pictures never saved. The fact that after you "delete" the files .. Even though you can't see or access the files. The space remains used.. Should prove to everybody (that uses Google Drive) .. that Google steals your data. Your files are never "permanently" deleted.
