All it needed was three little machine screws replaced in the secondary to fix it. The ends of the screws have unthreaded tips which wear down over time and allow the secondary to close too far. This increases the tension on the belt causing it be too tight.
I used to Ski Doo outside Corner Brook back in the late 70's / early 80's. Nothing quite like Ski Dooing on a clear night with a full moon. Good times.
That looked like an awesome trip. From all the great riding and riding conditions, great friends, to recovering the long lost sled for a total stranger. Even the water jumping was awesome lol. I love that kind of stuff. Thanks for posting.
Tks for sharing this cool story. Good job fellas. If it was a Yamaha all u would need to do is put some gas in it n start er right up n drive her home 🤠
I guess Buddy that owned that Cat has to call their insurance and give them their money back, now that they got the machine again. LOL It looked like it was a fun last ride.
I found an old cat on the side of the river where I kayak in the summer. Not that I want a cat but it’s real cool. I’m going to try and make it back there tomorrow, about 4 km from the road threw swamp. Can paddle when there’s water flow.
You’ve never rode a sled on the water it’s like riding a Jetski but better. It’s a easy thing to do with a little confidence just don’t stop and balance your weight from Front to back.. Fluctuate throttle and try to keep you speed up
You fluctuate throttle throttle stop stop cavitation. If you just give it more speed had a consistent throttle it won’t come out cavitation .You will sink
I remember growing up riding snowmobiles. I was around 6 when I got my first 1970s skidoo. I am 35 now, by the time I was 18 the snow here in Massachusetts disappeared. We have not had a real winter since 2012ish. We are lucky to maybe get 8 inches of snow a year now, when we used to get over 4 feet. So, that hobby is over. I don't know if you notice a drop in snowfall up there, bu the northeastern part of USA notices it hard.
how to tow a snowmobile. You short tie one ski to the back of a sled! Then you tow with nobody on it. If you have to carry somebody put them on your sled. Makes it extremely easy !
Sounds like Buddy Wasisname and the other fellers, remember the Yammie? 😂 Western Newfoundland definitely rules when it comes to snowmobiling. My roots are further up the Northern peninsula and looking forward to mid March for a month long snowmobile trip.
No, they ran out of gas one night and had to leave it there for the night... came back tue next day and over 2 feet of snow fell and covered their tracks and the Snowmobile
Where they found it was about 2/3 hours from the closest town on Snowmobile. If they went back in on quad in the summer, it might take you 4+ hours on an ATV. If you consider the brooks/rivers & bogs you would have to cross with a trailer in tow with the skidoo on it. It's nearly important even with all the man power you could find to help out.
@@AndrewMossOutdoors Its cold enough here for it though haha This is Gary by the way (The Fallout Shelter channel). I started this new channel for outdoor stuff
Thanks for the comment. If you watched the full video you'll see that I said it was recorded in 2018, and yes, the Snowmobile was manufactured in 1991, but im assuming based on the kms on the machine that it was lost in 1993. So, if we do the math, from 1993 to to 2018... it works out to be around 25 years lost in the wilderness. Just a guess, but I dont think it would be far off that number. Thanks again
I think she was in hard enough shape after being on the open country for 25 years lol. And I don't think the bys were going to spend all day shoveling her out and dusting er off. Get her out and go on with the day
@@AndrewMossOutdoors It sounds like the "they're coming for your guns" crowd down in the states. They've been coming for 40+ years, when are they going to get here?
