I enjoyed that. It's true women are comparatively rubbish at stand up, but there are exceptions. Would like to hear more from this lady. She was warming up nicely.
Yeah it was decent and she held her confidence in front of an audience so fair play to her. Hope she develops more with time. It’s not like every good male comedian was instantly good the first time, everyone has to develop their craft. Unfortunately there is the kind of guy that will see this video and moan she isn’t the level of Sean Lock etc and therefore ‘women ain’t funny’ to them.
My Wife did a Masters on a feminist perspective of birth control in Victorian Britain, she had to ask for a extensions as she got pregnant twice while writing her thesis. She got a destinction and two children out of it.
With critical postcolonial and feminist lens, like Maryam Wasif Khan's reading of book is also a commentary on gender and a British woman's place within the colonial project The female characters coming to the Orient to break free of their social roles in Britain represent the discord between Englishwomen and their social roles at home, and tells the narrative of "pioneering Englishwomen whose emergent feminism found form and voice in the colony".
Yeah, she seemed just a tad nervous. I don't think her delivery was at all bad and the material was very mostly funny, some of it very funny. But like you say she seemed rushed, tense. Obviously that's a 'character/style' that some comics employ, Lee Evans comes to mind. But I don't think that's what she was going for! Maybe she's trying to emulate Sarah Millican?
It's obviously a balance, she managed to get a shitload in there for only a ten min set... like you say though, maybe 'cut out some of the fat' and let the meat simmer for a little longer! That takes a shitload of confidence of course.🤷
@@muldwych2029 Novemer 6, 2023 - I'm one of the Connecticut Yankees that migrated from New York City back in 1980's. I LOVE GBNews because I'm a real anglophile and a political Independent. I pay for a service that allows me to watch GBNews, BBC News(?) etc. Cressida is great on "Headliners". She had a fun exchange between herself and Louis Shaffer which made me laugh so much I recorded it. Stay strong U.K., LOVE you chaps!!!💖💖😊👍
Could see she was nervous, but some great jokes in there. Slow down a bit and tell fewer jokes so the others have time to land and you've got a great set.
What was the last thing she said as she left the stage? Sounded like she was having a stroke. Sweet girl though, somewhat funny. An 8/10 on a female comedian scale.
I like Cressida .. but she’s not really funny. Why does everyone think they are a stand up ? Very rarely are women funny , and sadly Cressida proves it .
The funniest characterization of the Just Stop Oil protests: "The just look like they're on a shit school trip". They look like loosers because, well...
Oh come on, the way Jo Brand says " fuck Donald Trump" on every show she's been in for the last 7 years is hilarious. Wait for it, wait for it, Hahahaha, she said "fuck Donald Trump!". Hahhahaha
Some pretty funny material in there delivered very well. I think I could detect some nerves in her voice at points, would have been funnier without that I think. Keep it up Cressida.👍
She’s been hustling for years and it’s coming together. Got to respect putting the time in and doing the grind on the circuit. Be interesting to see how her material continues to be honed.
Very good. And I am not being a patronising misogynistic twat. I laughed at the Anthony fauci line, because I am allowed to , because I am not in public; til now... Good work Cresida...
November 6, 2023 - . I hope Cressida adds more material to her routine. Cressida is great on "Headliners" on GBNews. She's more relaxed, and the moments that she looks directly into the camera, as if to say... @#$%&, "give me a break" is the gold that her given name means. She had a fun exchange between herself and Louis Shaffer which made me laugh so much I recorded it.
I hate saying anything negative about her, since she's awesome, but she was too nervous in her delivery and her material was a bit too filled with pandering.
"Tapas that's just Spanish for ripoff" 100% accurate. Done that bs once. Wtf. You pay a ridiculous amount of money for a couple of snacks most of which don't even taste well. Never again😂
I'm 65 years old and I think she's adorable, if I had the energy and could be arsed I'd probably be her stalker ( joke ) her set was good, very entertaining. her recent hostings of GB news " headliners " was well done as well, go gurll..
Because you don’t find them funny means they’re not funny lol. Loads of women are funny. There are some stereotypes of things men like to laugh at vs women etc but it’s annoyed we can’t just respect each others differences and have to attack each other it’s depressing as fuck.
By stating "literally zero women are funny" - This statement makes sense! If you're saying no women are funny, well your opinion I suppose. Many aren't funny to some; especially on stand up but plenty of funny / clever women out there!
