Good to see you guys back and making content. I think it's important to realise that even our human relationships are only temporary. Whilst that shouldn't stop us from opening up and loving, life is ultimately unpredictable.
Yeah that's why I (Alex) think these kinds of experiences are really valuable. Learning to let go of things helps to learn that we have nothing to lose in the first place
It's a never ending story alright. Even after we rebuilt our small abode we can't even go back to build a mound to be flood safe because the soil has been too wet the whole time.. so it's been a bit of a gypsy experience lately moving around all the time.
Glad you guys are ok. Goodluck with your off-grid home. I'm sure you guys are gonna make it flood proof. Been 3 months in our off-grid home. You both will love it!
@@offgridcitycouple5695 We went with Metkit homes (Paal homes). Did everything as owner builder except for electrical, plumbing, concrete slab and gyprocking. A Queenslander kit home will prolly be better in northern rivers. Took 2 years 8months pretty much me by myself mostly while wife worked. Home has 4.8kw solar, 48kwh battery, 2x5kw all in one solar inverter/charger, Sola hart hot water system and 40klitre water tank with filter, UV filter and grundfos pump. Home is steel frame with tin roof, but only hardiplank cladding. Opted up double glaze windows/sliding door. Cheers
@@whoguy4231 that is a good sized solar system! You'd pretty much not even notice being off the grid with 10kw capability.. That's pretty much the design we're set on too. All steel home from a kit home supplier in QLD who will provide pretty much everything to lockup stage. Hoping to save some money doing it as owner builders and make some memories putting it all together.
@@offgridcitycouple5695 If its going to rain four days straight, we don't do any electric oven and minimise hot water use. Oh, we also have 2x45kg LPG gas bottles so we can cook without using electricity for those four straight rain days. In summer, we run 4.5 hp and 2.5hp split ac no problems. Make sure your PV face north! We got LED lighting throughout. You guys will be fine...work safe.
In life EVERYBODY has an event that is traumatic and that is perhaps designed to teach us that in this life we loose sometime. Thank God for everything because some people loose more then just goods. There are people loosing health and have kids dying. I think if we just dismiss our losses and make it so that ,yes,we have learnt a lesson from this LETS CREATE MORE THEN WE HAD BEFORE. Our God will look after us,we will make more then we had before. And we will live with joy and peace daily and we will get up every morning looking towards creating a wonderful prosperous life. And we will experience joy of giving to others as well. Loss is shocking at the time it happens but in time ,once we create the prosperity with our own hands we rejoice at that time and we forget the previous material losses. Thank God for every moment, every emotion, every bliss and we are just human beings that want to live happilly and we are challenged at certain time in life but are strong to overcome all bad.We are invincible. We are winners! Thank you for creating the wonderful videos
It's interesting that pretty much anyone you meet that has a kind of loving and calm sense of depth about them normally became so as a result of overcoming something really challenging. Maybe the universe gives us with tough times on purpose so we can become better humans
Certainly been a tough few months, hopefully it starts to dry out a bit for everyone. Don't be discouraged, this experience will be only make you both stronger👍.
Hey Michael! Hope you're doing well, and it's good to be back 🙂 House will be on a bigger mound now, and braced more to counter stronger forces from floods & winds.
