After Care Summary for 360 Lipo and BBL *~ Intro: Post op Care is highly important and can deter or mess up your results if not done correctly. - General recommendation for most surgeries: no lifting, no submerging in H2O, no work outs etc for at least SIX weeks. *~ Compression: wear Stage 1 Faja for an average of 2 weeks or when it fits loose then move to the next stage(s) or tailored to fit. - Duration: Faja should be worn for approx 23hrs per day for first 6 weeks (only take off to bath or get a one-hour break; in other words, wear Faja for approx 23hrs/day). - Note: ensure adequate compression on waist area only not on hip or butt, we want the fat cells to live/survive. - After 6 weeks; wear faja for 12 hours per day for minimum of 3-4 months mark. Note: Make sure FaJa has an adequate compression on waist but not hip area. Avoid over compression make sure you can breathe. *~ Lymphatic Massages: minimum of 10 but up to 15 or 20 is not unusual. - Note: make sure only well qualified or highly experienced post lipo lymphatic massage therapist one who can identify things like fibrosis early (by using wood therapy, cavitation, ultrasound treatment to prevent or treat these modalities). *~ Sitting / Back to normal activities: After 6 weeks Pt’s can work out, lift heavy object, swim, sit on butt, etc. (In other words, before 6 weeks use BBL Pillows to sit, lay on stomach, and avoid putting pressure on the buttock). -Note: …Here in the States; Fat transfer is placed under the skin but not in the deeper layers like “in” the muscles as seen in countries e.g., Columbia (transfer to the deeper / muscle area is potentially dangerous and can lead to fat embolism) so do not sit on buttock for first 6 weeks (can however, sit after 6 weeks). *~ Feed the Fat: Don’t lose weight for first 3 months; eat healthy fats e.g., Avocado, salmon, nuts, meat, milk, ice cream (maintain or gain weight in the first 6 weeks but don’t overdo it, approximately 5 pounds during the first three months is okay to feed the fat). *~ Q/A - Avoid over compression: make sure you can breathe, Faja should not be too tight to avoid scarring and fat cell necrosis. - After a minimum of ten massages by a professional, Pt can self massage using rollers. - After 24 hours post op start your massage, shower, and then start using foam, and boards. *~ Hydration: drink at least a gallon a day (clear water, pineapple juice, and Electrolyte eg gatorade, powerade, pedialyte) avoid dehydration which can lead to light headedness and tachycardia (elevated heart rate). Stay hydrated starting from post op first 24 hour period Pt’s should drink at least a gallon or two. Hydration is very important! Conclusion: Commitment to a healthy diet and exercise is important to maintaining best / optimal results. Surgery is one thing; however, recovery / post-op care is as important. Thanks Dr Earle.
Why do some doctors say you can sit on your butt and your results will not change? Do you recommend sitting on pillows or buying a boppy pillow? Also can you explain brusing which I have alot of blk n blue on my sides especially.
I wouldnt do anything that will get incisions wet….think about all the microbes that are in lake water. You dont want any of that getting into or trying to get into your wounds.
Your surgeon most likely will give you a blood thinner and or compression socks . Make sure you go with a board certified plastic surgeon! They will take all precautions for your safety !
