We challenged resident Bon Appétit supertaster Chris Morocco to recreate a General Tso’s chicken recipe from 'The Woks of Life' in the Bon Appétit Test Kitchen. The catch? He’s doing it blindfolded with with only his other senses to guide him.
We collaborated with Burlap & Barrel to dream up a series of new spice blends that will level up any cook. These are blends that the Test Kitchen always wanted, and now we're making them a reality.
Spicy Salty Sour Sprinkle is a deep red seasoning blend fizzing with tartness and peppery brightness. www.burlapandb...
Chili Crisp Sprinkle combines the palate-warming heat and toasted-allium intensity of chili crisp into a dry seasoning blend. www.burlapandb...
Zingy Cumin Tadka Blend balances earthy cumin and citrusy coriander with a triple-threat zing from wild hing, peppercorns, and Cobanero chili flakes. www.burlapandb...
Check out all six super-flavorful Bon Appétit Blends here: www.burlapandb...

@@Arch3r666 your note doesn't make any sense to me. The thing is, Chris had 7-10 different soy sauces presented to him. I’m really annoyed with his attitude about the double fry. First, he asked the token Asian for help then proceeded to ignore it. And then determines it’s a fussy step. Chinese cooks have developed this technique for centuries and there’s a reason those techniques are still used today.

This series lost its edge. Most of the last vids he does't actually have to figure out the dish, it's obvious. For example this video. Tso's. He didn't have to use his "super taster" ability. He just had to try to match a dish he already knew. And he couldn't do it, even when told to fry it twice. Put this series out of its misery.
