We had it legal in my state for a year. Still can't buy it anywhere, while they "discuss" implementation and rules. They say by 2025... All they gotta do is look at Michigan, copy their rules and laws and DO IT.

They did that here in NYC, and it's a free for all. You can give a pain management doctor $400 for a medical mj card to get access to a dispensary, or you can buy from the street, or the Yemeni corner smoke shop. No matter how you smoke it, taking a rent-seeking fee for "regulating" a controlled substance is ALWAYS the game. If the crooks in Albany need cash, they can crack down on the unregulated smoke shop trade later and try to take a fee from regulating it. As of now, the license is $250,000, but the state/city isn't enforcing it.

Virginia did the same thing. Now we are in limbo where you can’t buy it directly so there are “clubs” where you pay a membership fee and get a “gift” in return. 😂

The "nice" thing about the business is that technology can help you do things better. The down side is the monetization and regulation process. The medical card people get more time to go to the store, and they get to go first - like they get to go at, say 8 a.m., and Recreational doesn't open til 11 a.m. It's really strange-feeling when you go for the first time. It's like surreal because you're used to doing this on the down low! And you don't have to watch what words you use (like in Florida I went into a head shop and you weren't allowed to use the word bong but that's what kept coming out of my mouth! 😂). It is neat to just go to the pot store! But their prices are much higher than if I get it "off the street." in MI, we have some have both, medical dispensaries and regular dispensaries... this seems to work, although i don't really know anyone that needs it and doesn't actually propagate it themselves or via friends. so having shops is great, but having the ability to grow your own and not be imprisoned is the real victory, it is just a plant after all.

You're in the Midwest which is close to my state. Ohio will probably be supplied by Illinois until they get their own grow fields operational. I was in Arkansas a couple of years ago and I had medical Marijuana card there. Took about a year for them to be fully operational and there are positions in the Marijuana industry that pay well. My brother makes a 100k a year cultivating and trimming bud.

Cali legalized ALL drugs.. there’s the difference. Ohio isn’t passing out crack pipes and needles, ffs.. there is a massive difference. Some of us really need marijuana. I have RA and Fibromyalgia and weaned myself off pharmaceutical narcotics, they were killing me. But once off them the pain was out of control, marijuana helps with that. Not all of us are pot heads that just want to get high, we use it to live some kind of normal life with less pain.
