So basically you are given a1, which can equal anything, and you have to plug that number in for a2. After completing the equation, the product of a2 is used in place of a3. The product of a3 goes into a4 and so on and it continues to grow exponentially.

@@ataraxia7340you don't need to understand that lol. He has just written that any term of that sequence can be given by that general term an=2a²n-1-5. There's no logic behind that. you can just consider it as a question. I mean you don't really ask the reason behind a math problem you just solve it.

Since 3 square is 9 he multiplied by the 2 and that 18 so 18-5=13. I hope that helps
