Mowing the lawn this morning, before the heat drives me inside, I found a bottle of OV I probably haven’t seen in that since the ‘80s so I thought if you are old enough to buy bottled beer of an ancient brand you should be mature enough not to drink and drive and throw the empties on my lawn. 20 years ago we had a mail box at the end of the lane and it used to be a sport to see who could hit the most mail boxes, empty aluminum cans just don’t fly the way bottles do 🤷♂️
I have a local shop that takes deposits for two products - Latina (local brand) sauces and soups (mason jars) and La Pinte (local brand) dairy products. I while ago I read of pilot project (not here) trying out standard returnable containers for a variety of products like ice cream and sauces. Perhaps somewhere down the line this will come to be - say, a standard pasta sauce jar, like in Ontario there was a standard beer bottle for a while.
