there is a bug about the grinder in the last soviet mission "head games" i wonder if that's just me have that problem it was the grinder on the lower west part, below the captured allied base if you kill some or all guarding units near the grinder, it would turn into neutral and if you send engineers in, wanting to capture it it will just eat off your engineers without being captured

My assumption would be that if you grind a tank with a terror drone, you also get the funds of the terror drone then.

There's a map in Skirmish that has no regenerating ore. I think it's the D.C one. So at one point, I actually had run out of funding but luckily I had both Soviet and Yuri tech, so most of my income was from building cheap tanks and grinding them for more money.

In red alert 2 if you have both allied and soviates, you can take advantage from the cloning vats and cloan any allied infantry the you can sell them back to get double the credits

When I used to edit things in TibEd, units would have this thing called "Soylent Value" which was what you'd get when you grind them up. So that's what I like to call it when I send units to the Grinder. "This unit has a Soylent value of this much, so I'll make this much from it!"

During play I discovered you can send your MCVs into an ally's grinder. It was the only unit I've seen where I could do that.

In infantery in vehicles gives full money, you can clone infantery, put them into vehicles and get the bonus that way.

I haven't seen this discussed or mentioned: What we used to do is put blockers around the barracks. The infantry won't come out and your money would be returned, but the IFV will still copy them. You can then grind them to get money back.

The way I see it, Allied and Soviets spend money to keep a until in the fight. Yuri grinds the unit then buys another one. Though that has the downside of losing any experience that unit had accrued

This has to be the most overpowered resource building in the series. It wouldn't be too bad if not for the fact that it was used in a mind control focused faction who had a superweapon that can give them units for free.

Worth noting, if you wall in your barracks while having a cloning vat, the barracks unit can't be trained and gets fully refunded, but the clone still pops out. Put the clones in the grinder and you have free money

There's a allied mission i don't what part but you have an black eagle and enemy boomers in the mission in that however has many neutral units roaming around the map and infinite cars driving by if you happend to capture one of yuri's base and train yuri clone aswell as building a grinder you can mind control the populace and the roaming cars to the grinder easy money. I had fun playing that mission despite being short.

What would be really interesting to know: how many conscripts can I fit into one genetic mutator and how much gain would I make? And what is the best price/build space vehicle to farm if I have a industrial plant?

I think Romanov cant be inside of grinder, but it is campaign unit, even mind controlled you cant atack him.

For obligatory use if you follow my tecnique: Train Yuris, build Psychic Tower and (maybe) Mastermind Tank, don't invest in Virus or Brutes (Gattling Tank yes, because the air menace) because the VIRUS will cause than the enemies don't aproach to be converted and the Brutes will crush them when aproach closer. Basically you can make money of agresives armies with easily.

0:26 Most units have a "Soylent" value defined and this is usually what ends up getting used. A lot of these values are just half the cost of the unit, though, but in the case of vehicles it's the same as their Cost. Sometimes there's a special value, though, and CNCNet also makes use of this in their optional Yuri Patch to make Brutes only grind for 100, meaning the old Initiate+Cloning Vat->Genetic Mutator into brutes->grind trick only ever breaks even with the cost of the Initiates (still gives you a return if you use Conscripts, though) 1:25 I actually did not know this, I wonder if this is intentional? I have heard the Industrial Plant also doesn't _actually_ reduce the build time of vehicles, only the cost, but I haven't personally tested this myself, but that would be consistent behavior with this because its only modifying the cost you end up actually paying for the vehicle instead of its literal real cost. IIRC the same thing happens with "Cost*Mult" when a Country actually specifies one (ex: Russia was originally going to have CostUnitsMult=0.85). Funnily enough the IndustrialPlant also has fields for "InfantryCostBonus", "AircraftCostBonus", "BuildingsCostBonus", and "DefensesCostBonus" but all of these are just set to 1 in the vanilla game. They do legitimately work though if you set their values to something other than 1, and indeed you can make any building apply these bonuses too by also putting FactoryPlant=yes on it. As far as my understand goes _only_ buildings can have FactoryPlant=yes though.

Payback time for Boris! Last time, it was with the Iron Curtain crate with the real Tanya killing off Boris after duping her clone into it. This time, Boris owns the real Tanya and Yuri Prime! The real Tanya takes out his clone for duping her clone and Yuri Prime's clone into the Grinder, only for herself and the real Yuri Prime to get shot at by the real Boris. DON’T MESS WITH ME! On another note, Grinders are the greatest help to Yuri's economy.

Will you test cloning vat in RA2 ? since it's has a concept to "recycled" unit like grinder but only for infantry .

What happens if you grind a vehicle infected by terror drone? Do you get resources for both? Can you grind a vehicle affected by chaos drone?

You get $300 profit from convert two initiates to brutes. I keep initiates on production pass the early-game once I got cloning vats so I could convert them for extra funds. The downside of this trick is; you need to invest into making initiates so it isn't free money.

This is why yuri has the best defense for a long run match, but if you want to go for the extra small map like kikematamitos then it's a bit difficult because yuri's basic defense is horrible compared to sovyet's bunker filled with conscript

There is a fact that I discovered: You build a Slave Miner, deploy to summon the Slaves, then move the Slave Miner to the Grinder and recycle it (leave the Slaves there) And what will happen is: the Slaves say the quote: “We’re free!” and become NEUTRAL. They will immediately attack your units that are nearby them.

What about unit that affect with Iron Curtain ?
