Recently, a minor change in Formula 1’s technical regulations has caused quite a stir. This change, introduced at the end of July, affects the braking system and has now become a challenge for Red Bull in their bid to defend their championship title.
A single additional sentence was added to Article 2 point 11 of the technical regulations. Initially, the rule stated that the brake system must ensure equal forces on the brake pads, acting as opposing pairs on each brake disc. In simple terms, this means that the brake pads must apply the same amount of force to each of the four brake discs.

If it’s a loophole it’s not cheating. Cheating implies rule breaking, hard to break a rule that didn’t exist! F1 development is all about exploiting these loopholes.

Where is the part the FiA confirms the asymmetric braking? Just because they tweaked the regs doesn't mean a team was doing it. The FiA confirmed they changed the rules because of the new regulations overhaul in 2026. There were rumors that red bull made an asymmetric g - sensitive T valve that only did this for the rear axle, but like I said, the FiA did not change this because RedBull was "using an asymmetric braking system", it was because of 2026 realistically. All I see from this is rage bait for Red Bull and Max fans.

Read the original rules -- the "clarification" is only being used to get around disqualifying RB for all races utilizing the configuration.

I don't see where the cheating was. Has the FIA actually announced RB was cheating? If so, where's the penalty? I'm no fan of Max, but where I come from, free speech is a sacred thing. Tell the "DOO DOO HEADS" at FIA to start living in the real world where you just tolerate things you may disagree with. I think new leadership is in order. This current boss, Mr. "S", lives in his own bubble......

When you charge Mclaren of cheating, Redbull should see internally that they are biggest cheaters. Max won last year due to this. Had this being caught, last year would have been close battle.

McLaren has had a car that easily trumps the RB19 of last year for like a dozen races now and Lando has won three races and Oscar has won two. Max would have easily won last year if all vehicles were the same. You don't win 19 of 22 because of a car; Lewis Hamilton proved that long ago. Little Lando and rookie Piastri would've maybe won one a piece at best. Further, they didn't cheat. RB didn't break the rules, that's why they have changed the rules because they weren't breaking them. Now McLaren, the rules are clear and McLaren is in fact breaking them with their flexi-wing and the FIA has openly said they know they're breaking the rules but they don't care to make the season more interesting and to actually start enforcing the rules in 2026.
