A little curious how they keep calling this the fastest motor sport? These guys are great pilots, don't get me wrong, but when they fly during the Reno Air Races they are just a side show. At the air races they are going head to head with multiple planes on the course at the same time at speeds in excess of 500 mph at times. I like the Red Bull Races but lets be real.
Marketing. I don't see why it gets you bent out of shape. Exaggeration in marketing has always been a thing. Doesn't make the racing any less cool. The claim refers to air racing in general, which Reno Biplanes, RBAR Edges and Reno Jets all fall under.
