Of course it was luck. Lucky that he had the skil and split second timing to realise what went wrong and to implement the correct course of action to recover. During the post race interviews he explained what he did wrong and why he g-stalled the one wing. PS. If he had just "pulled up the yoke to make it go higher" he would have still been dead! He had to lower the nose to break the stall first before he could pull up in a controlled fashion. Take it from another pilot - THAT TAKES SOME BALLS! Personally, if it was me, truth be told, I would probably be dead!

Yep they do. As far as roll rate, turn radius and overall maneuverability, these planes would make any jet fighter ever built look sick.
