Messmer the Impaler... Brings my mind to Dracula, a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler, a.k.a. Son of The Dragon. He even has a bat wing motif... But his name? "Messmer"? As in, mesmerizing? Like how Miquella was said to be able to inspire people to love him maybe? It's all so hype! Sure is a pity Ben couldn't be here to share this moment with us... Oh well.

Anyone else notice that the puppet master of the lion is an Omen?

Theory Time: I thought Messmer was just another one of Marika's/Radagon's offspring, but then I took in how tall and lankey he is, similar to Malenia. Then I noticed that he had the scarlet rot snakes and a similar red cape that the rotten duelists have. Which could mean he's either another offshoot of Malenia, like Milicent and her sisters, or he's just straight up her son. If it's the latter, then that might explain why Miquella is even in the 'land of shadows'. Considering how the lore depicts his and Malenia's close bond, he could very well be there to find his beloved sister's child.

My theory is mesmer is the swrpent reborn. After tanith consumes rykard successfully. Miyazakis interview states that this world is a shadow of the lands between. An alternate but no less important universe. It could be that all these characters are the same ones from the OG world but different now. Like some Alt Universe shit. "A serpent never dies"

Ben just opened the wrong chest and got teleport trapped. He'll be back. Mugs are good, I have mugs from multiple shows, very functional. Way better money spent than buying figurines.
