They didn't want any Go Pro mounts on the aircraft :( They have to fly an aircraft every 6 minutes or so and didn't want people looking for Go Pros I have to assume!

+FT Impulse Nailed it. My cousin went to MIT. Campus is littered with people who shouldn't be there, but for one reason or another are. Don't get me wrong, there are brilliant students at MIT. But there is a very large crowd who shouldn't be there, and the faculty and smarter students don't do much about it, because of political correctness. His tuition basically went to pay for free education of foreigners and AA candidates, who just turn around and leave America after getting their free degree and contributing nothing to the economy. Or they go into government work with limited demand. Globalization and inclusionism are ruining America.

+thechosendude The only respectable top college left, IMO, is Caltech, and its demographics are proof... 61% male, 45% asian, 27% white. That is essentially what I would expect based on ACT score distributions (Male Asians>Whites>Everyone else, especially in math & science). By the way, I doubt all that many foreigners get free tuition or don't belong. One of the reasons top colleges have so many international students is their elite nature, both in terms of wealth and schooling. Rich Asians & others in lesser numbers enroll their kids in top prep schools in South Korea, Japan, and China, then send them off to American top 20s. And yeah, Trump 2016

If you have a team with a lot of money, they'll think twice about spending a lot if they don't get it back to improve on it or perhaps use it at another event. It kind of equalizes the teams a little.

Well, it has being a bit of a disappointment, rly. What was the distance they covered? It seems that a glide ratio was around 2? You could expect some flight (not fall) from the glider built that well. And some might dislike pokemons, for instance. Anyway, congratulations to FT on win and having a good time on an event. Hope next time they will fly too.

Sinan ÇINAR Indeed. It's a problem of each and every Flugtag glider. Google for Fflugtag record flights, they use extra high carts to gain some speed.

Unfortunately, the limitations do not allow any more for teams to use a cart higher then 5 ft or have a wing larger then 24 ft. Plus, for safety precautions they shortened the runway platform 50 feet after the first 8-10 planes because of the headwind...Better SAFE then SORRY they felt...and it was the right call. Just was tough for most planes to get any speed at that distance. GREAT TIMES though and thanks for watching and supporting us guys! Blessings, S.O.

FliteTest Well, that's what is ruining the whole Flugtag thing for me. I do not see weird planelike sculptures crashing into the water very entertaining and the rules are more and more suppressing real flying things.

I've seen a few more actually. The MIT guy's control line snapped, that's why it went full down on launch.
