First time I looted a body while in first person I got the chills due to how the dead body moved when you picked him up by the collar to check the pockets! Took A while for me to actually get over that lol
I remember playing this at my grandparents house, my late grandfather was watching in the background and asked, "what movie are we watching?" I of course told him it was a game, and he just laughed and after a while said "It's a weird cowboy movie". I miss these moments.
My Dad has macular degeneration , and cant see well at all , he watches me play sometimes , "he says that sure is something ,"I would play that if I could see " . Hes 85
Those are treasured memories that will last forever. I still remember playing Asteroids on the Atari 2600 way back in the early 80's and my grandpa laying down on the floor with me and playing.
My only complaint is that there should've been more side quests, bounties. I have it on Ps4, maybe it's a console thing? There aren't many random encounters. I miss seeing botched train robberies and tossing a stick of dynamite at a KKK rally😀
You’re right, San Andreas is almost 20 years old and games still can’t even top that. Cyber Punk 2077 gets absolutely slaughtered in a side by side comparison when you look at the attention to detail.
A technical marvel that will be close to 20 years ahead of most studios? Sure. Good plot and writing with excellent gameplay? Nope. That is why I still play older games, because they are good where it matters, not superficial stuff like graphics and animations.
While I wish I experienced this game with this graphical level of detail for the first time, it really didn't matter to me. Even on a base PS4 on a 1080p tv at 30fps, this game looked insanely gorgeous and the level of immersion is beyond anything I've ever played to this day.
@@acousticwolf5985 Is a testament that good art direction, competent use of resources, impecable gameplay design and rich use of sound, design and story is what makes games compelling, flawless 4k performance is useless if your game ain't interesting or engaging.
@TWISTED INTO TRUTH it's kinda frustrating that we are on what? the 4th released version of GTA5? and they haven't upgraded this game for current gen. I'd have 0 problems shelling out full price for another go at this game with a superior console performance.
I always imagine how cool it would be to travel back in time and show rdr2 to people from like the og xbox/ps2 era of gaming. They wouldn't believe it was even possible back then for a game to look like this. 4 years old and still the best looking, most detail oriented game that's ever released
I'm from the Atari2600 Commodore 64 era of gaming and I can assure you I'm amazed on a daily basis by all the things that I see now, it's what all my generation of gamers had always dreamed of. And I'm not even talking about VR. I almost have a seizure everytime I'm using it.
there many of us out there still going strong that remember gaming in the 80 (and some before that!)...I remember Super Hang On, on the AtariST & seeing just the load screen in 1987 (would have been 10yrs old) & thinking "wow that's the most amazing real looking thing I'd ever seen" hahahahahhah...if only I knew what worlds "I'd get to play" in lol
In 2004, when San Andreas released, all my friends creamed their pants at how simulative the game was. You could go to the gym to work out, you have to eat regularly, you can gamble, play pool, get heart attacks, etc. It sounded like the future of Grand Theft Auto was going towards a more realistic route. We thought by the year 2020, you could explore multiple countries, with each city having fully simulated NPC's with their own lives and such. Obviously that never happened but if we showed them RDR2, they might be fooled into thinking so. The level of realism with this title is bar-none. No other game has EVER reached a similar level of realism.
The best console game ever made to date , utterly beautiful, I play it over and over again , I am sixty years old hardly a trendy gamer , but it gives me a total escape to normal life to another time . Rockstar you are literally sitting on a goldmine.
It's unfortunate they decided to pull the plug on Red Dead Online support this year. I do hope they reconsider next year once Grand Theft Auto 6 is released. The potential this game has is immense.
Stunning, especially at night and in the rain. Graphics and gameplay will hold up for years to come. Still love free roaming in RDR 2 and will never get tired of it.
Yeah great graphics indeed. The power GPU and procesor really made a day. I would say it looks like reality, but one thing makes all this to be a crap like others. AI of opponents. They act so foolish i always know this is just another game no worth mentioning.
I never noticed how realistically the npcs interact with your character. The doorway scene in the hotel/bar - how the man stepped out of your way before you hit him and said “pardon me” I know that there are probably a lot of games that do that and it happens in other places as well, but I really appreciated that scene in particular bc running into people at the doorway just seems to happen so frequently - I don’t know. It just stuck out to me is all..
My first experience of rdr2 was this year. Played on rtx 3070, max everything, on my fast new gaming PC. Also i hadn't played good 3d pc games for maybe 15-18 years. You can imagine the impression it left on me.
@@cake8211 It is so boring I played for 2 hours and didn't try it again for over a year. It turns out I was wrong, I look forward to playing it now, its not about constant action getting into crazy gun fights and running from the law all day. It is about enjoying all the small things and the journey and the massive array of things you do. I'm now 14 hrs in and I love it
@@kyledupont7711I read a comment similar by someone else. I, myself, uninstall this game every year and find myself installing once again because they just cannot duplicate the experience elsewhere.
The most impressive aspect of this RDR2 is the example at 3:30. You can be on a hill with this amazing view and see across the entire land and travel to whatever location you see in the distance. I loved that about the game. It makes it feel like a real world. This game is very well optimized too and I wish every game company would put in the same effort but they are usually very lazy and you get FPS drops even on a monster PC.
bro exactly I recently got this on my laptop and I was expecting it to not run very smooth but its incredibly good fps wise and defaulted to the ultra graphics settings which is crazy, it runs so well without heating my laptop up much too
Games made by Rockstar Games are full of life. When you look at other games with an open world theme nobody is even close to what Rockstar has been doing for years. Their NPCs have their own paths, their movements around the environment feels natural, you can follow them and see that everyone is doing something different. They almost act like real people. When compared to other games, you follow characters there and they despawn or they get in your way and you get stuck etc. This is truly mind blowing and this is what makes a huge difference when you want to enjoy an immersive gameplay.
One thing that this masterpiece gave me (apart from unforgettable moments) it's that during almost two years I felt weird playing other games because no one could give me this level of quality and anything compared to this was just insufficient.
Exactly. Even in the lowest settings(I tried once just for fun), I was stunned by how damn beautiful the game looks even then with the insane fps increase too. Then I just increased textures to ultra, shadow to ultra, water physics, reflection, refraction to high, near and far vol res to high, and I was stunned again by how good the graphics are. So I just decided to play with these graphics on my mid-end hardware, until I was showered upon by god's blessings and got to buy a PS5 and got this game there. I had tears on my eyes when I played this game on the ps5 with those insane graphics at 4k
The fact that this game still wins over new triple a games that come out today in a graphical and story standpoint is quite amazing and honestly historical.
This video had been stunning! I wish I`d noticed this video couple of weeks back.. Flawlessly taken and also well explained, hats off!. Keep believing in yourself!
Without any exaggeration, this game changed my life. Let me tell you, my story. I was a hardworking, straight As, student till I managed to get into the top tech institute in my country for BS degree. (First in the extended family to get in). My parents were very happy and decided to take loans to pay my fees and send me to uni. I never realized it at the time, but this was the point when I subconsciously became overconfident about my abilities. I would only study a week before exams and spend most of my time watching RU-vid, movies, and TV series. I used to watch Rhett and Link, Ryan Higga, Community Channel, Prank vs Prank, Vsauce, Vlog Brothers, Dan and Phil, and many others channels popular in the 2010s on a regular basic. My grades started to drop, but I thought I was in control, ‘I am not an addict, I can quit anytime’. Every semester I would vow to do better but fail worse than before. I did not know what was happening to me on a psychological level. When faced with bad grades, the guilt of wasting time and money, and the vanishing dreams of a well-paying job and a better life for me and my parents and siblings would make me hate wasting time, but at the same time, RU-vid would let me escape into that digital world and make all my worries, guilt and headache go away. Except when the screen turns off, it would return worse than before. To avoid embarrassment, I stopped meeting or talking to anyone, till it was only me and my phone. I never talked to anyone about my situation or seek advice of teachers or relatives. I graduate with a CGPA so low that I was not even eligible to apply for any relevant job. This was the first time my family came to know about what was going on. They were disappointed in me to say the least, but they still encouraged me that everything will be okay. That year after graduation was the toughest. Most of my friends got amazing jobs. But the worst thing was, that now that I was out of uni and without a job, I was free to watch as many videos and TV series as I want, but suddenly I had lost all interest in that. In fact, I hated it all. I did online freelancing and had some success with it. I had time to think about important things in life, including what screen addiction had done to me. I decided to mend my ways and apply for masters. With a 99.98 percentile score in the entrance exam and an interview that conveyed that I have learned my lesson, I got admission despite my terrible CGPA. I started that first semester strong since I had no desire for wasting time. As final exams approached, I expected all As. Then it happened again. I used to watch the Radbrad’s gameplays in the past and when Red Dead Redemption 2 came out, I allowed myself to watch this one series, just this one and only for one hour a day. This series got longer than expected and I remember watching RDR2 videos on exams nights because I could not stop, and my mind was numb during exams due to not getting enough sleep. I had no control and kept binging many other series including Last of us and Horizon Zero Dawn till the result day. I got 2 Bs and by uni policy, I could not repeat a B grade. All that hard work in the semester was ruined due to losing control during the final exams. I got severe anxiety and sleepless nights. I hated myself and felt that the world would be a better place without me. What helped me snap out of it was the thought of how taking my own life will psychologically impact my loving family, including my little brother. During all this time, I had been read many books about quitting bad habits, but it was no use. Every book and every RU-vid lecture about quitting RU-vid ended with the common message that moderation is key and it is only a tool that can be both destructive but also constructive. I tried to be moderate, but it never worked for me. Every time I would pick my phone, I had already lost control. Finally, I read a verse, which is now my golden rule for life, (paraphrased) that when the disadvantages of something outweigh its advantages, then to make any progress one needs to get rid of it entirely. This is what I did. I replaced my smart phone with a small featureless keypad phone, deleted everything from my laptop and plugged it to a monitor so anyone at home could see what I was doing. I started praying five time a day, which made me very peaceful, free from anxiety, grateful for little things in life and improved my memory while feeling more present in every moment. Those five pauses in a day also helped me to timely regain control on those bad days when I fell back into old habits, instead of ruining the whole day and then realizing it at night. They helped me to avoid burnouts by taking five small breaks within a day. I avoided total seclusion by meeting and chatting regularly with others who prayed. Long story short, I graduated with a high CGPA and a beefed-up CV and managed to get my first job as a research engineer in a prestigious company. I regret wasting time, but I also realize that I would not the way I am today without going through what I did. To anyone who is reading this, I beg you to learn from my mistakes rather than ruining prime years of your life to learn the same lesson I did. Reevaluate your life now and identify your addictions. Get rid of things that are slowing you down, even if they are not as bad as in my case. Be brave enough to face harsh realities because digital escapism will only make things worse.
that verse "when the disadvantages of something outweigh its advantages, then to make any progress one needs to get rid of it entirely", may I know where you read it?
So did rdr2 change your life for the best or the worst, im confused?? For me it literally changed my life for the better, my mindset started changing drastically. And the game taught me allot of things since i grew up without a father. It forced me to get up, early in the morning. Do chores, go to gym. Eat healthy, care for myself and get things done, and with doing all that, my confidence went up and i succeeded in almost everything i did. Well i wouldn't say the game changed my life, to be more specific, it was Arthur Morgan who changed my life. After he died at the last mission, i literally cried a lil bit, and im a 23 year old young male, crazy right, a fictional character made up of code and pixels on the screen changed my perspective for the better. Then when the epilogue began, it felt like a new start for my life too. When John was fixing his life for the better, i also did the same thing, because me and John both know thats what Arthur wouldve wanted, to never look back at all the negative i came from and run away from it and chase the positive. "When the time comes, you gotta run and dont look back".
I'm in a very similar position. Been dealing with depression for awhile, that watching videos and stuff is all I do. I'm in deep debt now and coming slow close to even closing my car. Every day, I plan to get up early and start working and earning money again, then the next day comes and i just don't give a damn. And the cycle repeats every single day. I'm really scared I'm going to lose everything. I wish I could get a 1 time bailout. Just this once, reset my mistakes, have no credit card debt looming over me, be able to buy food again, be able to pay my car without worrying. Rich people get bailouts all the time, yet poor people get nothing. Even before the debt, I couldn't afford a therapist who probably could have helped me before the downward trend started.
this is the BEST game i ever played in my life, and i have been playing games since 1999. from playing 2d games on crt monitor to this masterpiece on a 1440p resolution maxed out graphics, its just so surreal, cant even explain that in words. i am glad i brought this game early but played it only now when i had enough time with to enjoy it and not rush it for the sake of completion. The Devs, writers entire team at Rockstar, thanks a ton for giving us this amazing experience in a game. wish i could forget everything about my first playthrough and start it again knowing nothing absolutely nothing about the story the characters the red dead world or its lore, wish i could start playing again from zero. what an amazing game, when Arthur rode back to shady belle after his capture, that ride was the most amazing thing i have ever experienced in any game or movie. dear CD projeckt, learn from rockstar on how open world games are made, and please improve on the next cyberpunk game instead of rushing it through the door for your phony investors instead of caring for the community.
The first gameplay video I have ever seen where I feel like I'm watching a movie. So much ahead of everything else. Only the horse animation that breaks my immersion.
Most of it looks really good. The rain drops at night were a little distracting. They looked cool coming off the tin roofs in the market area because the water tends to converge and the droplets get bigger but the ones coming from the sky seemed too big and they stuck out.
Doesn't matter. The raindrops aren't always like that. It was due to the fact there was heavy rain and it literally shows you on the HUD, else, rain can be as pleasing as distracting in the game.
My first computer was the CoCo TRS 80 - with a whopping 64k of RAM and games like Calixito Island and the Black Sanctum or Raakatu...text based adventure. Open door, move rug, lift handle sort of commands. To see RDR2 (and Ghost of Tsushima too) for their beauty is beyond words for me
4 year old game, I played it on a last gen Xbox, 30FPS, console was 4 years old at the time. Yet it still looked amazing and was the most immersive game I’ve ever played.
sometimes i feel like we don't appreciate 4k resolution enough, it's awesome, it's almost three-dimensional and without using any special screens nor glasses, i wish i could experience it some more by my own with a 4k screen and a next-gen console/PC
looking forward to upgaading PC in a few years. to the 5000 series and whatever the highest CPU is at that time. Still running a GTX 1070, still runs everything fine but not on max.
Out of all the videos I’ve seen of video games maxed out, modded, edited this one takes the award. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a better looking video game in my life. But if I do have one complaint and this is not really your fault but rockstars, I’m not a fan of how the water looks in rdr2. Most areas look extremely muddy and dark almost like gta 4 but hey I couldn’t do better so hats off.
@@abhirupkundu2778 - I didn't copy paste anything. Is it possible that, of the millions of people who have played this game, this opinion MIGHT be shared by more than one person?
Wow! I really appreciate the creators of this game. My computer is not able to render anything near this quality, and I still could enjoy the game. But THIS!? It's crazy! Thanks for posting.
Holy shit. wow. Makes me realize how miserable my old pc is, and even I am stunned by the graphics in this game, but I never get to see it like this. OMG.
This is why I'm not upset to have missed this game on release. I just started this year in 2022 with my RTX 3070, Ryzen 7 5800X which is damn near this good and the level of immersion I feel in this game is unparalleled! 330 hours and I still just love to BE in the game's world.
Love how Rockstar create a game that is so far ahead of its time that they don't need to rush their next installment. GTA5 is nearly 10 years old... let that sink in for a second.
I'm a GTA fan from the beginning but I played GTA5 when it came out and stopped playing after about 20 mins. How is the even possible if I'm a fan and spent millions of hours on Vice City etc? The mechanics are crap and driving is awful. Can't wait for a real GTA title like 6 to emerge
@@DNGR369 but i personally like RDR game more than any GTA games because they are quit boring and have bugs Although i dont have any console or PC its my dream to play it once in my life before i die
@@DNGR369 that's the weak point of every rockstar game. Shooting and driving aren't fun enought. I'd like to see Rockstar in a new IP aswell. They are awesome recreating reality but I'd like to see them in something more fantastic.
I have waited with buying this game on purpose until my pc was upgraded. So a month ago I bought Red Dead 2 on sale and played it on Ultra settings from the start. I have never regretted waiting, as it is the most stunning looking, best game I have ever played in 30 years of gaming.
i bought this game on sale when a had a gtx 1660 and forced myself to wait to play it until i finally was able to get my hands on a 3000 series card. I can say it was definitely worth the wait. the graphics of this game are absolutely stellar and makes you feel like your playing in a movie.
Even without graphics mod, this game still looking one of the most visually stunning games to date, rockstar nail it, now imagine with full ray tracing.
@@partyisanidiot9941 Ah shit, you're right dude, I'm so real sorry to him and everyone, misread a simple word and didn't bother to do so again, I wasn't reading carefully as I should at that moment. 🤦♂️
I finally decided to make my first ever PC build coming as a lifelong console player. RDR2 was the first game i wanted to experience. Ive been playing at ultra graphics 120+ frames and it is absolutely unreal. I cant get enough. 7th play through going for 100% completion taking my time. Playing with a 7800x3d and 7900xtx.
I wish could play this game, i always search for a way to play this game without purchasing or on low end pc but everything so expensive that i can't afford I just enjoy by watching these gameplays
