The outfit Arthur wears during this mission, the Wittemore, is affected by Arthur's honor level. In a Low Honor playthrough the vest and tie will be red, and in a High Honor playthrough they will be blue.

I really wish R* had done it the other way round... since the game _is_ RED Dead Redemption - a red vest for high honor would have made more sense. But then again - they don't let you keep the best outfits in the game.... for reasons I absolutely can't fathom since they have zero effect on gameplay.

There's dress up, acting classy, a really pretty environment, you get to spend time with some chars you don't see a whole lot of, etc. I think this is one that's more fun to do fanart or fanfiction of or whatever too because it kinda already reads like something a fan might come up with lol

It was missed because of the need to rush out for the time challenge. But if you stay in cover behind the bar, you can see Straus actually help out by bashing a wine bottle over the head of guard who bursts out of a side room trying to flank you.

Fun fact. If your Honor leans towards the left (Bad), even a little bit, Arthur's vest & other accents to the outfit will be colored red. If your Honor leans more towards the right (Good), the color will instead be blue. Very nice detail by Rockstar.

@@Levael nah every card which is shown on the table counts for every player, arthur had one diamond on his hand and the table had four other diamonds meanwhile blythe did have a pair of aces but different suits, having five cards of the same sequence (just like arthur with five diamonds) is called a flush. The flush is higher than a pair

Anyone else notice that straus saves Arthur’s life in this mission ? Yet another instance of Arthur’s life being saved more than Johns. Don’t think you can see it here but go play the mission back yourself and you’ll see straus knocking out a guard who is about to shoot Arthur

It depends on where you move with Arthur. If you run out past the bar it’ll be Arthur in danger, but if you stay behind it shooting, then the guard is about to kill Javier and Strauss knocks him out, saving Javier’s life.

I think Javier is exactly the type of person you want in this mission. Javier excels in dynamic environments that require stealth and cunning and can blend in fairly unnoticed.

This is one of my favorite heists in the game. But it does make me wonder why Strauss bothers with loansharking. This one mission made the gang more than his loansharking. So why not stick to intricate heists? Less legwork, bigger payoffs and you don't put out nearly as much bad karma into the world

Late response, but it's because loansharking is a more low-risk venture for the gang. Sure it doesn't pay great, but it only requires two people - one to loan and one to collect. Once it's time to collect, you can send someone to (mostly) legally rob them. Intricate heists are high risk and high reward. And frequently they involve shooting and violence, which Strauss obviously isn't built for.

If you've played with more consistency and determination while the poker game is running,you could hear the dealer saying "Don't worry,we're the author of our own good fortune,sir." Almost the Same line that trelawny repeats to Arthur before boarding the riverboat.

Despite having such a bizarre cast for characters in this level, it's a really cool level with a interesting concept for robbery. But damn does it hurt how sloppily they got. Like they could have pulled off this robbery without any suspicion if Javier had killed the guy he took the suit from and Arthur knocked out the staff that opened the safe instead of just pushing him.
