@@Ajapa42 because you couldn't really explore it. It was originally meant to be explorable but it felt like a Tomb Raider side quest minus the puzzles. I still shot a few parrots though.
@@400cabal That's true. I did all the mission of Guarma without trying to explore the island (even if the first time that I play to the game, I intented to hunt some pigs). In fact, I really like the part when you're in the castle and you have to use a canon in order to sink the ship.
Agreed, no game or movie has made me feel THAT depressed. When Arthur got diagnosed with TB by that doctor, I stopped playing through the story for a while. I was just delaying the inevitable. 😢
Chapter 5 is my fav cause it shows the turning point of Dutch. The mf strangled a old lady cause he didn’t want to pay gold, greed was his memo the whole time
Chapter 1: cowboys on the run (but in snow) Chapter 2: hell yeah cowboys Chapter 3: elegant cowboys, tryna be smart and play people Chapter 4: maybe let’s be city cowboys Chapter 5: Now we’re stranded an island, but we gotta go pew pew to get to Tahiti Chapter 6: ARTHUR NOOOOOO
Just imagine how it must have been before the Black Water disaster when they were at peak power. That's why RDR 3 needs to take place before Black Water. We need to experience the gang at full strength.
@@stevedownie1378 yeah I know and I reckon they could easily make a great 3rd game but focussing specifically on the same group wouldn’t be the best. Maybe a Hosea backstory or something could be good
Wait for 4 years I did and am now playing it again One or two scenes pop up in mind But na i forgot much and everything and i love it man its one of the best piece of art ever created

@@Sparta_-_ nah, gta games are great, and so are red dead games, what truly is bad is people like that guy who go "oh [game] is bad and overrated [other game] is much better" just play what the fuck you like who gives an absolute shit we can't tell you what to do or not do.
@@crazycar4015 yeah I did and I love the game but it’s such a contradiction how you are unaliving hundreds of people while talking about being good and bad
@@jamesnelson8469 Yeah, Arthur did kill lots of people, kinda like how EVERYONE around him was killing each other. People kidnapping children and non-combatant women, murdering and raping Native Americans and stealing their kids, murdering people's husbands and wives, I could go on. Your original comment acts as if Arthur was exclusively murdering people and boils him down to his worst acts, which is such a 2 dimensional way to look at a character. Especially if you go the honorable routes, he also saves plenty of people from getting hunted down and killed, he protects people from getting killed by their families, gets vaccines to Native American children, saves his best friend and his family, stops a brutal dictator who enslaved people on an island, rescues slaves from a fence, helps a widow survive the wild, tried to mend a situation with the Downes family as much as he could despite what he did earlier, rescues a German family from being murdered, and so on. Listing his bodies off without any context is such a bare bones approach that removes any awareness of his actions and fails to even dive remotely deep into what he was. No he wasn't a true hero like the other commenter said but neither was he just a murderous psychopath.
Won't be topped for decades, nothing even comes close. God of War is the next best thing or maybe or TLOU 1 in terms of modern games. Even as good as those games are, they can't even be compared to RDR2....it is a work of art.
@@Alban616i mean,if this game was all flowers and ranbows and everyone was happy and had a good ending and nothinh bad happened,we wouldnt love it as much as we do
When people don’t realize that Guarma was meant to be the size of the map itself but was just cut content, at least 40-60% of RDR2 content was cut and a good bit of it was on Guarma thats why its chapter seems so short, and fun fact there is a summit on Guarma that more than likely was supposed to be a volcano so you can imagine how crazy it would be been to have the gang survive on the island while it erupted, so Guarma was supposed to be in my eyes the wildest chapter
Chapter 1: Woooo Chapter 2: It was perfect….perfect. Chapter 3: It was perfect….perfect. Chapter 4: It was perfect….perfect. Chapter 5: Woooo Chapter 6: Depresso Music Epilogue P1: I mean it’s alright like… Epilogue P2: It was perfect….perfect. Edit: my bad for enjoying chapter 1 lol, I was speaking subjectively
Agree, don't really understand the hate for guarma. Yeah there was no side content, but it undoubtedly had the most, for lack of a better word, epic mission up until that point in the game
It was cool but they fucked it up because before the game released you were originally supposed to be able to revisit guarma as John and free roam there, and the map was supposed to be far bigger with even a volcano you could visit. They screwed it up too bad for it to be truly enjoyable. The only thing I got out of guarma that I’m ok with is the sun hat
Epilogue Part 1 goes so hard. When American Venom starts playing for the first time, the cover art pose, the classic outfit scene, I would give it a "Come on! you gotta admit this is cool!" rating.
I just beat Red Dead and chapter 3 was fr what made me go from liking the game to it becoming my favorite of all time. The world building and the way they put you into the middle of a feud between the Braithwaites & Grays was so well executed it really makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into something that’s gone on for years in a small section of the map, making the world feel so huge, & the ending to that chapter is beautiful 🥲 I also rly loved guarma, but I’m kinda biased cus anytime there’s a topical theme in a game I always really like it 😂
Chapter 6 is the saddest part considering Artgur Morgan was such a beloved character in the Red Dead Redemption community and he just dies of a disease
I worked in a cemetery for a bit with their records, disease while boring for the story, totally fits the time period. They nailed so many historical little tid bits in here, I use clips occasionally with students it's so awesome
@@jefft2546 half the time they are trying to squeeze in as many historical references that they can, its sometimes pretty goood, but confederate veterans still fighting a war thirty years later is pretty fucking dumb, but the occasional dialogue is perfect
Im in chapter 4 and so far my most favourite bit is when they all join together to rescue jack, shows what humanity should be like, caring for others like family instead of being rude to everyone for no reason
I think you can tell Rockstar had to cut out a lot from Guarma, my guess was that it originally was supposed to be more detailed. It's crazy to think if they had been able to deliver the full game they had originally intended with stuff in New Austin, Tempest Ridge, maybe even Mexico.
1. 3 (perfect, especially the attack on Braithwaite manor) 2. 4 (good pacing and good job at continuing important aspects of story) 3. 6 (one of the best mainly due to it's character development and ending) 4. 2 (good rise in plot developments) 5. 1 (not bad, just fast and most story set ups aren't award winning) 6. 5 (although some of it was a vibe) I feel the same way about part one of the epilogue as I do chapter 1, just a regular start off. Part 2 of the epilogue gave a nice and satisfying end to the game.
People love chapter 2 because this is the only chapter in the game where all gang members are happy, it’s a vibe and there are nearly no problems, micah in prison, arthur pre tuberculosis. In other chapters allthough still great in storytelling bad shit happens or someone dies
Guarma was great. I remember at that point in the game l loved the story, but wanted more action, and boy did I get it. Felt I I was in a damn Battlefield game lol 😆
I don't care what anyone says, Guarma was epic. Plus, it is a crucial point in the game. It is where Dutch starts to go crazy and Micah starts to REALLY show his true colors.
John,Uncle and Charles building a house for John and his Family has to be one of the best part of this game. So Wholesome. Even the Mission where Arthur and Lenny go to Saloon and Arthur gets drunk. That Mission is when I fell in love with the Man ARTHUR MORGAN
I think people heavily underestimate the importance of an intro in general, not just red dead. "alright" doesn't cut it for me on that absolute banger of a prologue
@@blackvalio4060 really? Really poor taste on your behalf. Deffo single, fat and lonely. Only a complete misery guts with no emotion or attention span couldn't enjoy this game.
Guarma may not be the best but it was definitely a different experience, it was pretty fun and does serve a purpose in the relationship of Dutch and Arthur
Chapter 1 - Okay, but not bad. Chapter 2 - Perfect, one of the best. Chapter 3 - The best one. Chapter 4 - Another perfect Chapter, on par with 2. Chapter 5 - Weakest part of the game. Chapter 6 - Big step up and on par with 4. Epilogue: Part 1 - Really good.
Agreed that Chapter 3 is the best; 2 and 4 are great but the former is more simple missions about the gang getting back on their feet while the latter felt slightly rushed. Chapter 3 is narratively perfect imo.
Guarma would’ve been good if it wasn’t so random and a different vibe. It was like when movie franchises make the dreaded fourth movie where they introduce random new scenarios that are good ideas but don’t fit in with the story at all
Guarma was very fun and interesting, but I feel like there should've been a little bit between getting saved by a revolutionary and singlehandedly fending off 5 legions worth of cuban soldiers 😅
Pronghorn ranch always makes me very relaxed and somewhat nostalgic of the first time I played and was crying when Arthur stared off into the sunset on the mountain and then I suddenly was playing as john and was so happy
@@tdegrddeehjgd playing low honor can be fun but just try high honor, you could really just play the whole story low honor and then boost it in chapter 6 that’s what I did on my first playthrough when I realized how the endings would go
@@trippyshrimp8598 I do often try but at that stage of the game one trip through Van Horn and accidentally bumping into someone results in a bloodbath. Also the mission with the Gatling gun on the train drains honor as if you accidentally hit the enemies horses. The last few missions remove the free roam and all lead directly into one another so if it's just in the honourable section, one mistake and by the time of the last mission it's too late. I'll give it another try though.
@@tdegrddeehjgd even when I commit mass murder my honor doesn’t drop too much, if I have full honor and pull off a train robbery it only drops to a bit above neutral, if you get up to a good spot before the last couple missions you’re good, just greet people all the time
Hours of mindlessly mowing down random enemies you don't care about. I think even the "it's alright" was a bit too lenient. Chapter 5 deserves a "it's a bit rich but okay"
