I swear no fictional death has ever hurt me as much as Arthur Morgan’s death. I’ve never cried for the death of a video game, tv show or movie character the way I did for this man
This game's story was written so perfectly, it had a mix of emotions, action and pain. I have never cried for a video game character like i did for Arthur. He was probably the best protagonist rockstar has ever made and I applaud them for that. The fact that everything starts to seem like its going well, then Sean gets shot and everything starts spiralling downwards. The entire story is just so immaculate, I would pay to feel the emotions as i did on my first playthrough, the fear for Arthur, the favourites' deaths (rip lenny) and even the feeling inside when i went to the Saint Denis bank, not knowing what was about to come. Rockstar should be proud of rdr2
Son: why is my first name “Arthur” and my middle name “John”? Dad: well son, you were name after two close people, where I went on a unforgettable journey with them.
If i had to die, i would want to die the way Arthur did, watching the sunrise or sunset peacefully remembering all the good things I've done for everyone, and Knowing that they would be Alive and well, and hope that they would remember me as a good Man...
This scene was already incredibly impactful, but this song made it infinitely more heart-wrenching. When I first saw this scene, I thought it was just going to the sound of Arthur wheezing before he just...stops, staring at the sun, but having this song fade in as the sun rises was so much better than I could have imagine
Niko Bellics story is sadder imo because both Arthur and John (even Max Payne) have happy endings to an extent as they both redeem themselves and die better men. Niko lives on as a shell of a man.
I wish that if they ever remade rdr1 johns death has this song play but to a lesser degree arthur if high honor id say was a good man his entire life despite being an outlaw while john was a bad man until arthur changed him and it reflects johns redemption from a bad outlaw to a honorable family man
