New turtle owner, loving her she's friendly and she eats out of my hand, have a fish in tank with that she chases around, rather comical,I have nice filter and air pump in tank, she like the bubbles,a heat lamp and dock for after she eats she naps❤
This is great , you are taking good care of your turtle, however placing fishes and turtle in the same tank is enjoyable, it has it's downside, soon I will make a video about that , and I hope you enjoy their company for a long long time.
Had both of mine for 3 years now. They are awesome. My first one is gilbert. Very curious and friendly. The female named kiwi is also curious but shy and kinda nippey. Every morning they go to the same side of the tank to say good morning and same at night. Very interactive.
@vetcare-healthyanimal haha thank you. I chose gilbert because of a goat from a movie me and the gf watched and Kiwi got her name cause her eyes look like the inside of a kiwi, haha. I hope so, too.
I have a pair of red ears myself. I got my first when she was just a baby. I actually got her at a fair when I was a kid. Luckily we did research and got her a nice big tank, before eventually setting her up with a pond once she got too big for it, and we plan on building her a better one when we get the chance. The second was given to us when her owners couldn't take care of her anymore. I've noticed they have distinct personalities, with Shelsea - my first - being like an excited little puppy when she sees me, while Peanut was very shy and would always dive into the water. Recently she's gotten used to me and acts excited or curious when I come out, but she's still a shy girl
We found ours in our pool. So we are trying to make sure they ate good as our pool is saltwater so we didn’t want them to die. Appreciate your channel.
That is so cute , I hope you already transferred them fast into a freshwater tank cause saltwater and chemicals in the swimming pool are wrong for them.
Oh dang! glad you found them when you did and decided to take care of them. Seeking out proper information for care with these types of critters is critical, so seeing someone seemingly unprepared to take one in to begin with taking the steps to get educated on these subjects is very promising:)

Turtles can make for fun pets that but remember they're also a big commitment. Make sure you have a big enough tank or pond with good filtration and regular maintenance!
red-eared slider turtles should not have gravel in their tank. And Here's why: Impaction risk: Turtles are opportunistic eaters and might mistake gravel for food. Swallowing gravel can lead to impaction, a serious health condition where the digestive system gets blocked. This can be fatal and often requires surgery. Difficult to clean: Gravel traps waste and debris, making it difficult to maintain a clean tank environment which is crucial for turtle health.

Hello Tatyana, This could be for many of reasons, The average lifespan of a red-eared slider in captivity is around 20-30 years, at 25 years old, your red-eared slider is considered on the senior side, as there is Decreased activity and Loss of appetite. -also are you in an area of the world that is in winter right now that could be a Brumination But if the condition is excessive of loss of movement and not eating. As red-yeared slider that is a pet at homes if the pet owner is not providing all the optimum conditions , eventually that could affect her life span, her health on the long run, sometimes could cause irreversible harm. so I would advise try to provide all optimum condition from light, temperature and healthy eating. Monitor her and if she didn't get better and her conditions is persistent , try to take her to the vet for check up, also examine her physically for any abnormalities she could be sick .
