The Red Earth Festival in Oklahoma City. The parade has been held in Oklahoma City for the past 32 years. The Red Earth Festival is a nationwide, Native American Heritage Festival. Representatives from Tribes all across the US are invited to participate and many do. Today we say Tribes from Iowa, Delaware, Missouri and Kansas in addition to our own Oklahoma Tribes. We also saw honorary representation of a couple Tribes which are now extinct. Along with their extinction is the loss of all their culture and heritage, very sad. The Red Earth Festival itself was held in the Cox Convention Center and we saw many Tribal clothings and their individual and group dances and listened to their singing. Their songs tell stories about incidents throughout their history and is a key element in passing their traditions down through the generations. A very unique history collection system. Was a very beautiful experience for me as I have not, till this point saw any Native American festivities such as this. Thanks for watching,
